ARR Alliance Raid Burn Out

Is anyone else getting sick of ARR alliance raids being nearly the only raid to pop for the alliance roulette?

I've been living with this change ever since it started. At first I didn't mind but was worried for the long run. Fast forward to today, my desire to avoid alliance roulette is at an all time high. It's currently the last roulette I'll do and if anything ARR pops, I bounce. I don't care about the 30m time out, that's how insufferable its become. The "bonus" reward is no longer worth it.

We have 5 expansions, 3 raids each (save EW which is at 2), we'll have 15 raids and only 3 are commonly seen with the others being Big Foot/Sasquatch levels of rare. We are at 22% of alliance raids making what feels like 95% of the roulette (soon to be 20% after EW's 3rd release). This is not alliance roulette anymore, it's ARR Alliance roulette.

If we can't separate ARR raids into it's own category like Main Scenario Roulette, can we at least make the rest of the Alliance Raids mandatory to level out what we get?

I sincerely do not believe this to be an obnoxious request. If people wanna skip the story fine. I'm exhausted, tired, and seriously irritated that it's all I get. I would like to enjoy the other 80% of content alliance raids more often than what feels like 5% from the roulette. For those who might say "Just queue for the raid you want." are missing the point that this is about roulettes. Roulettes are a nice way to get something random from a pool to help keep things fun with an attempt to keep things fresh and assist those in need where ever they may be. The pool (I should be saying puddle) is barely in use, the fun is gone, there is no attempt at making things feel fresh. The roulette is the issue, not the raid.

You're not required to run the roulette everyday, especially Alliance and Main Scenario. You don't have to max tomestones every week. If any activity burns you out, don't do it for awhile.

You're missing the point. The desire is to have variety. I don't do main scenario. It's 3 dungeons. Alliance raid feels the same when it doesn't have to be. I enjoy HW, StB, ShB and EW alliance raids.

It's primarily for fun. Tomes are a second. I'm already maxed so they don't mean much to me.

If it’s primarily for fun, you could always queue up for five of your favorite alliance raids directly! I will often do this with duties I want to get rewards for so I don’t burn out on grinding out one of them.

I personally tend not to run this roulette myself because the duties are a bit too long if I get something I’m not in the mood for.

Still, it doesn't change that the roulette would be better with the other raids having a higher chance of popping. fun is still a primary. Bonus' gives it increased purpose (close second to fun) but the bonus isn't enough imo. Can't say I only want to run the latest content over and over for those who think I just want to farm. I desire variety in the roulettes as I'm sure many do. Sure bonus rewards are a strong link but it's not really the focus. Without bonuses attached roulettes I don't think many would be enticed to run them, but the source of the problem isn't the reward. Its the pool of content being used....well, not being used I should say.

It's worth noting that the players themselves are one of the biggest culprits of this being the case. Two different kinds:

The ones running it for the first time, or who are otherwise have not yet unlocked any of the higher-level Alliance Raids - a distinct possibility if they are sticking to MSQ and not doing optional content, as Crystal Tower is the only Alliance Raid series that is currently required for the MSQ.

And then there are the players who downgrade their gear before queueing so as to make themselves ineligible for higher-level Raids. This is generally done because Crystal Tower is quick and simple compared to later raids. Just look at the bloodbath that inevitably occurs when one queues into Dun Scaith, for example.

i've been griping about the crystal tower taking over alliance roullette for who knows how long!

because they are needed to progress the story they should be placed in main scenario, bottom line.

alliance roullette is my fave one, by the ct raids have ruined it.

You can manually choose your top 5 alliance raids and have your own "pseudo-roulette"

It's all well and good for everyone replying to say, "Just don't do it then" but that misses the point. There's an untapped pool of players who would run alliance roulette that don't for just this reason. I'm one of them.

I ended up running CT raids daily for two months for the daily a while back and finally had enough. Since the CT raids are simple hit everything as hard as you can and ignore mechanics type fights, they are incredibly boring. I also see a lot more awful alliance/shout chat in these raids (not a surprise, there's nothing else to do in here except start fights in chat.)

I like running content. But these aren't fun, they're a slog even if it only takes 15-20 minutes.

Also? Getting an Ivalice or Nier raid to pop outside of Mogtome events has been an over 30 minute wait every time I've tried it. Even during peak times. I've sat in the duty finder all evening for a pop on the later raids only to never have it happen. Same for party finder. (3+ hours, but I did get a lot of crafting done.)

I have a finite amount of time to play and certain things I need to get done. I'd like to have fun while I'm doing them. I just wish Alliance Roulette was one of those things. It isn't, so I don't. I do think it's one of those things that would be helpful for the devs to know as to why people stop running it, even if they don't do anything about it.

the roulette is there to fill the spots on others people raids, to help them. but what about the people who want to do the other raids? barely anyone gonna help them because there are so many low-lvl, cheeser and people who only have crystaltower in the roulette.

so in order to help as many people as posible with their raids it should be a must to have access to ALL raids available on your lvl.. and also to have the requierd ilvl... to be able to sign up for the roulette. otherwise it wouldnt be much of a roulette.

this would leave only one reasonwhy crystaltower is more common than the other raids: joblvl... not removable. and it also means we get crystaltower more often anyway. but it would be better than now.
