Bumping this again as we're closing in on 5 months. Still unable to connect to the game whithouth either using mobile net or cloudflare warp or getting extremely lucky with vpn. But mobile net isn't a solution and the rest just make the latency an even bigger issue than normally. Sent several packet loss reports as well but still nothing.

    Greetings Adventurer!

We would be happy to assist with your concern. However, we have noticed that you mentioned trying some of our troubleshooting. As we are unsure of the exact troubleshooting you have done, we would ask of you to try the following if you have not done so already. Open the control panel of the PC and go to ‘Network and Internet’. Once there select ‘Internet Options’.

    - Under the "General" tab, please delete ALL browser history.
    - Under the "Security" tab, please move the slider to the lowest possible settings or no higher than "Medium"
    - Under the "Privacy" tab, click “Advanced” and select ‘Accept’ under both First Party and Third Party Cookies.
    - Under the "Advanced" tab, please make sure that "Allow software to run or install even if signature is invalid" is CHECKED.
    - Make sure that all SSL and TLS (EXCEPT SSL 3.0) are CHECKED. [SSL 3.0 should be UNCHECKED]
    - Hit "Apply" to save the settings, and then "OK, to close the Internet Options menu.
    - Right-Click on the FFXIV launcher icon and select "Properties"
    - Hit "Apply", then "OK" to save the changes.
    - Please RESTART your PC now. Once your PC has been restarted, Right-Click the FFXIV launcher icon once more and select "Run as Administrator"
*Make sure your fire wall or antivirus program is not interfering with the game

Next, check to see if the following port ranges are opened on your router. You can contact your ISP and request they open them for you
    ▼TCP
    54992 through 54994,
    55006 through 55007,
    55021 through 55040

Try disabling background applications and do a clean boot by opening the task manager and selecting the “Start up” tab. Disable everything and then restart the PC.

Lastly, we suggest to power cycle the router by shutting down the Router and leaving the power supply unplugged for 5-10 minutes.

    - Flush DNS: Within the "Command Prompt" of the device, please type the command "ipconfig /flushdns".
    - Reset TCP/IP: Also within the Command Prompt, type the command "netsh int ip reset" and then restart the computer.
    - Delete the Patch Folder: Navigate to the folder using this path This PC > Docs > My Games> FFXIV ARR > Downloads > FFXIV patch (Use for either the version update error or cannot download patch files error)
Then either rename or remove the folder, the next time FINAL FANTASY XIV is launched, the client will repair the folder.
    - Change local DNS: Please try changing the local DNS server to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4
    - Delete local files with corrupted character data, please note this will not delete the associated characters.

If you do not see an improvement, please feel free to respond to this thread with the following:

    - What times have you attempted to play and receive this error. Is it consistent or only at certain times.
    - If not consistent, have you tried to play at times with lower traffic to see if this helps.
    - What drive do you currently have the game installed on.
    - Which version of the game do you have currently. (Windows or Steam)
    - Have you attempted to reinstall game already just to be sure if this helps.

Thank you for visiting the FINAL FANTASY XIV Technical Support Forums!

Those are all steps I have previously tried a couple different times, as well as a set off follow up ones from support via e-mail. The launcher still works just fine, allowing me to get to the main menu but trying to connect to -any- datacenter results in the 2002 error.
This also happens on a secondary laptop and several other people that are on the same wider network but not every single one. I already contacted the ISP back in March and they tested it as well. And according to them no changes had been done with the network when the issues started, and nothong on their end should be interferring with the connection. They also tested it with a parallel campus network and observed similar issues. That network is separate from the one I am currently on, but both are part of a network administred by csc.fi. My local ISP/administrators conntacted the administrators of that network inquiring about any changes and got confirmation that no changes had been made and nothing should be blocking anything. And according to their observations it to them seemed it's an issue outside these networks or that perhaps something over on SE's end is somehow blocking something.

A note on the DNS changes, neither setting them manually to that google one or the cloudflare one (1.1.1.1, 1.0.0.1) helps.
So far, since the issues started, the only way to connect at all is with mobile net or while running cloudflare warp(which also swaps dns address to the clourflare one)
But being forced to run the connection through the app means the connection overall is worse, and there's been far far more random disconnects with it.

-The issues also persist at all times of day, I've tried at all sorts of different times in the day but it's always the same.
-The game was installed on the same nvme drive as before the issues appeared, then moved to a new one but issue still persists.
-Have the windows version of the game.
    -Reinstalling has not helped.

this issue has been going on for months, people post issue, same gm reponse, person gives data, gm never givea meaningful response since this issue problably doesn't have a basic fix, squeenix doesnt acknowledge the issue, nothing happens.

Bumping this again as coming up on 6 months having this issue. Still can't connect to any of the DCs/servers without running cloudflare warp or through mobile internet.

Sadly, still an ongoing issue, so here's a bump once again. Seems that not enough people have it to get it looked at. Yeah, it's possible to play with cloudflare warp, but it's far from optimal

Bump. Confirmed issue is still being seen in July 2024. Everything was working fine with the game. Was playing yesterday. No updates or system changes have been made in between now and then.

I've tried all the suggested resolutions even though it seemed pretty clear it wasn't going to make a difference based on other peoples experiences.

Very surprised issues like this are allowed to continue so long unresolved. Is that it then? Am I left to either play on VPN or not play at all?

Same for me tonight, but only on 1 data center. Chaos in EU. I can access the others with no issues. So it's not on my end.

I have the same problem, less than 20 minutes ago the game kicked me out and now I only receive error 2002 when trying to connect to the data center. I would appreciate some help from the GMs here.
