What are your thoughts on XIV content creation?

As well appreciated, and Beautifull as it is, There's simply Not enough Utilities for Island Sanctuarys. I have spoken with dozens of other Island owners, and all near beg for their own Personal, decoratable house, Retainer Bells, Mailbox, FC Vault. Myself included.

For me, It is simply another daily chore to get tokens. (two diff crowries silly & confusing) To buy a few Market sellables. None of my friends actually host anything there. With zero amenities, It's simply a Giant postcard to Ooh and Ahh at. "Oh wow! this is beautifull!. but I have to go now, thnx for showing me " Is the usual response when inviting friends over.

Like Gridania, It too Rains Far too often, for too long. (In my Fantasy game, Rain is a rare, unliked event). Glamours are limited to plaza, walkways.. and not the cabin / buildings /land marks themselves. Every players Island a cookie cut postcard. with zero difference, no Utilities.
Private time there nice, but gods forbid you afk and auto-booted hosting a party. Unlike Housing Zones, nobody who isnt a friend/FC member can visit to rate, marvel at your island home. Allowing 15 players there is pointless if nobody wants to go there.

Since there are 100s of Empty FC plots, and No personal plots available in housing zone, why can't we have a home on our Islands?.

We love the Islands. But as we spend Hours and days working on it, we want retainer bells / Vaults etc, to make it far more Worth building, staying / visiting.

Thing is, while the quality is over the top, the plot isnt everyone cup of tea. We have enough tear-inducing plot on msq already, we dont need anymore.

MMO youtube contents are always boring for me.

Very lackluster but I would say that is partially the game's fault too, when content is hardly replayable and those parts of replayable content are extremely scripted that limits heavily what content creators can do with the game.

I saw a person saying that its like a sport but I would say it coudn't be more different. In a sport every match is different because the people on both sides are constantly adapting and reacting to whatever their competition does, meanwhile in XIV you barely have to care about your party members and the opposition does the exact same thing at the exact same time, reducing the factors that may make the "match" unique.

There is a reason after all why the most popular things are watching a newbie go through the MSQ and RFW in new content (Ignoring drama and controversy ofc).

Lately most FFXIV content creation is reacting to drama within the community and making fun of people for being human. Unfortunately schadenfreude is effective.

One thing I have noticed is content creators seemingly never post on these forums and only come here to point out bad takes in a video for content.

Thr Honest answer..,

Just like Any Content related to any specific game..,

It caters to the Cheap and easy first..,

But only will Thrive with Creativity after, if they even try..,

So far the Easiest layer of Creativity, is cheap and lazy retelling/abridging of drama/current topics/trends in the game.

Whilst more worthwhile takes time to create, just so it can scratch the surface of being more than just a retelling, and be broad to cover more than just one game.
[Some of the retelling aren't even funny in the long run. "Mid" as the younger/older gens would say to feel "hip". Subjectives]

More akin to laughing at how sad and happy some situations are from others actions or your own. [Like a certain Viera Boys latest Video of A.Bald. Which was very well done for what it is. But does highlight how the community views itself.]

It does its piece to break whatever monotony there is. but in the end, it can only go so far as to mirror what we want.

You expect Apathy, or lack of Ingenuity/Creativity. Let alone push for more. It'll stare right back, Like an Angry Mango that got lucky<Angra Mainyu>

This game really doesn't lend itself to content videos about it. There is no unique player experiences to share, no custom builds of jobs, everything is so finite and one and done that I can't see viewers being interested in watching content based around this game.
