This isn't really something I can provide definitive spread sheet data on to prove. I wouldn't even begin to know how to calculate something like this in the first place, and even if I could it would still be dismissed as an uncreditable source of data. But I do know that everytime I invite a friend to try the game, they do express how anticlimactic the fights are and that they don't feel any reason to have to be good at anything until Endgame. One of my friends at level 40 went 3 weeks crafting themselves a set of gear with melds and were sadden that it was outdated in 5mins. I warned them, but they insisted that self-progression was part of the joys in MMOs.
