It would be nice if older trials had a bit more difficulty. I don't think they should be wipefests, but the fact that you can easily skip mechanics and that mechanics that do happen feel weak makes them a bit boring. Even if the attacks don't hit hard, I would like to see the mechanics. Even a small ilevel sync would be nice.

The problem is most long time players in DF want to take it easy. I was in a trial roulette yesterday where both tanks left Yojimbo before the duty even started. We didn't even wipe once that fight. If older content is too hard I think people might just stop doing roulettes.

I mean imagine being a sprout, getting to Thordan, being mentally prepared for a 10 minute slugfest to cap off the masterpiece of a story that was 3.0's MSQ and kicking Thordan's teeth in in less than three minutes. This is beginning to really affect how enjoyable roulettes feel and I imagine it makes a lot of poignant encounters feel really flat. Honestly just adding item level sync to trials would make roulettes a lot more fun and, importantly, make the story hit harder for newer players.
There is an option to do this, Create a custom party and enable the Minimum Ilvl option if you would like to experience the fight as it was on release.

And it only took 1 hour and 20 minutes for someone to come up with this unoriginal decision that completely miss the point.

How does it miss the point?

OP wants to do the fights as intended and there is an option in the game to do so.

Problem solved, move on with your life.

doing it on minilvl is not the same as when its released. different skill sets and potency bloat make sure of that. but thats not the point of this topic. you shouldnt have to make a premade to experience the boss as a boss.

'hello new player, to not be bored pls create your own full party. veteran players are bored of it so they dont want to need any longer for it as needed, so we cant make it more interesting. it might take a while but you will get used to it'

I doubt it, because while a lot of old trials and duties get power creeped, some of the redone solo duties are a bit more fair. Not exactly difficult, but enough to make you push your buttons. The changed final fight of ARF usually kills most first timing sprouts. If anything I'd imagine most sprouts go into the easy trials and then proceed to struggle through content that's been retuned.

I mean, getting used to using PF early would be a good thing. Sets the expectations for the endgame, sitting in PF waiting for people to join to do actual content.

Fix these trials, SE- especially Endwalker's. Playing through these battles is depressing now with how brokenly easy they have become, especially with how epic they were on release.

Some people tend to forget content in MMOs have a shelf life. You aren't there when it was hot, it will never be the same next expansion. It becomes a never ending treadmill even with item level.

Even if you were do a lot of 2013 ARR content as minimum ilevel and no echo will not replicate the original experience because of so many skill changes and potency over time. Some skills are added, deleted, and replaced. Same ordeal with older ultimates despite the capped +5 item sync from release to cover no-materia downsync, they still do get slightly easier. Skills from level 70-80 just aren't the same as they were.

Alchemical Research Facility, Ala Mhigo, Amaurot, and the Dead Ends still have managed to live beyond any sort of "shelf life." They are easier than they were at release because of potency buffs, but they still cannot be absolutely facerolled like Endsinger has become thanks to failsafes laid by forced ilevels. It's not about shelf life at this point.

As an enjoyer of the narrative and understanding these fights to be literally the climax to their expansions, this is imperative to be fixed- Endsinger especially.
