TLDR : I can't imagine people learning without my totally valuable advice which i of course deliver in the most rude and passive aggressive way possible! Why are those dirty snowflake noobs not crawling to my superior mentor feet?!!!
*Flashback to SHB*
Me, a Scholar who died to mob autos and boss autos: "Why am I taking damage?"
The Paladin: "UH IDK WHY DO-(I forgot what was said after this)"
Me: *Gets vote kicked and tells guildmates what happened*
Guild Mates: "Yeah, that's what happens when the tank doesn't know their AOE rotation."
Btw this was a LEVEL 80 DUNGEON.
I'll give healer a try up until level 100. If I do not like it, I'm off the role, entirely. Was this what Yoshi P wanted for people like me? Did he assume we were too foolish to take any semblance of complexity? How could such an allegedly open developer act so dismissive towards his own players? The flavor of the jobs I loved so much throughout the franchise were mere husks of themselves. What was once a magical world peeled away to reveal a sterile room of four walls. No imagination, no challenge, only accessibility for the sake of it. I didn't feel welcomed, I felt betrayed.
Had a really hilarious similar experience in Mount Gulg, the paladin tank didn't use aoe at all and was telling us that he is tanking since ARR and you focus one mob down at a time and that is faster than aoe. Meanwhile we had a summoner with us which was just crying in the background cause 99% of his kit is automatically aoe. Had to kick him in the end cause he didn't wanted to listen and the healer would just randomly get aggro cause of their heals...not to speak about the summoner who just spammed ruin.*Flashback to SHB*

Ok smarty pants, so if no one has the right to tell you that you are underperforming, and that parses are banned, how are you going to know that you are underperforming ?Classic stormy YET AGAIN misrepresenting what someone is saying. Literally NOWHERE did they say "let me stay bad"...the post boils down to "stay in your lane and help when asked". That's all they're really saying.
Also for people that complain the game is to easy, why then are yall complaining about bad players. If the content is so braindead why do bad players matter?

If you are unable to
- Make comments, tell people to improve, that they are underperforming, that they are the problem in the group because they are not doing enough DPS, healing or tanking badly
- Parses are banned and entirely forbidden
How is random Johnny supposed to know they are performing absolutely terrible, if people cant make comments to them, and that they actually cant see it ? How are you going to question your own abilities and your own skill at a job if you have no tools to even see that you are underperforming ?
I simply clarified what that person was saying as you constantly skew what folks are saying. I even said myself I don't wait til I'm asked. As a mentor I point out issues again when things go south but I go about it respectfully. I'll either make a point of it or ask if folks need any pointers.
So this whole "no one has the right to tell you" bit makes no sense when it comes to me.
I personally didn't need some elaborate tool to show me how I was doing. As a tank I use the aggro meter to judge that. If I'm similarly geared to my CO tank yet struggle to keep aggro they're clearly better and I have work to do.
But thats just me. Some don't care to get better and that's alright

You can swear, while not being toxic, or being a jerk. The extreme over moderation of swearing isn't necessary. A 13 year old is not going to become mentally scarred by seeing **** in chat.Just need to point out, when you agree to the ToS, you straight up agree that you will not swear in-game. The chat filter is there so that people who do break the rules they agreed to won't potentially expose others (probably minors in particular) to the language they're using. But you still explicitly agree to the terms that say swearing is a no-go.
Also, for the record, I've been in plenty of DF dungeons where people are plenty sociable and we carry on a conversation throughout the run. Speech isn't "heavily restricted" - just don't be a jerk. It's not that hard.
This is exactly what they said, they dont want people to comment on their skill and abilities to play a job, so how are they going to improve since there is nothing else to show them that they need to improve ?I simply clarified what that person was saying as you constantly skew what folks are saying. They didnt say "I want to stay bad" you are absolutely right, but by saying "I dont want anybody to comment on my skill with this job", they are literally never going to get better because there is nothing else, no parse, and the game wont tell you that you're underperforming heavily.
There is a difference between "lol u suck" and actually helping people with non toxic comments. But what most people and probably you to understand under helping is telling people that their parses are low and that they should just quit and git gud and maybe unsub from life when you feel extra toxic today.Reposting this bc of new page and I want a response to this

If you "help" in a unfriendly way people won't listen especially cause out of spite. I remember when all the folks here cried about the community guideline changes that now say that you need to suggest things to people and not just demand or belittle them.
So yeah, it's not about the if but instead more about the how.
And thats not your problem. This is exactly what they said, they dont want people to comment on their skill and abilities to play a job, so how are they going to improve since there is nothing else to show them that they need to improve ?

Until you have that person actually causing wipes in raids in your group, then you have every right to call them out to do better.
