    There are quite a few areas filled with monsters that can easily take out a full party of level capped players.

    There also used to be a peiste that would sometimes hang around the gate to Ul'dah and one-shot people... or the Ogre along the way to the ferry dock, or the Goobbue a bit northwest of Camp Bearded Rock. Unfortunately they are gone now.

    A bit of danger (especially at night) would be kind of nice IMO, but we still need to make it possible for DoL to get around if they don't want to fight, and keep travel between the main cities fairly safe even for new players.

And it wasn't even that far from where I nabbed them!
    Their territories seem to vary by type of monster. I've been chased pretty far by the big hogs in Mor Dhona. ^^;

    I wish I could hate you bald.

    At one point though if you run to far then you are clearly causing them to leave their fort unguarded which would allow others to invade without having to deal with said enemy lol.

    That's why they chase you, yes, but why would they chase you across the whole region? Unless they're very desperate they wouldn't chase you that far.

    Because those treebeard Earth first hippy bastards keep standing in the way of progress and as such, there is no shopping center in the middle of the 100-arce woods for the Bears to utilize?

    No... It makes more sense that if you get far enough from their territory that they will go back to continue defending it.
