Yeah it makes so much more sense that it just stops coming after you when you punched it in the eye.
I'm not a fan of this personally. I like that the enemies return to their region. Feels more convenient and modern, I don't want to be harassed when I'm just trying to get to my destination. There are plenty of enemies that require care when passing by because they'll 1 shot you and that's plenty of danger for me.

I wish I could hate you bald.

you on the mob's land and it wants to kill you.But why would a mob chase you across the region? It was one of the things that bugged me about FFXI, even the beastmen guarding the strongholds would do this, how does this make sense?

Only thing I don't like sometimes are a mob's territory zone area...if it's too small. I had to solo one time, and tried picking off aggressive enemies and pulling them just far enough away where I wouldn't aggro the others, but it was tough if I ran a hair too far and they'd give up and run back. And it wasn't even that far from where I nabbed them!

There are quite a few areas filled with monsters that can easily take out a full party of level capped players.Yeah, I had to solo some grand companies quests that caused me to venture into a part of The Black Shroud that one shot me when I went the wrong way on the map. It felt good to finally get aggro that keeled me... odd I thought I would never say that. Anyways, it still took quite some time into gameplay before I stepped onto dangerous territory.
There also used to be a peiste that would sometimes hang around the gate to Ul'dah and one-shot people... or the Ogre along the way to the ferry dock, or the Goobbue a bit northwest of Camp Bearded Rock. Unfortunately they are gone now.
A bit of danger (especially at night) would be kind of nice IMO, but we still need to make it possible for DoL to get around if they don't want to fight, and keep travel between the main cities fairly safe even for new players.
Their territories seem to vary by type of monster. I've been chased pretty far by the big hogs in Mor Dhona. ^^;Only thing I don't like sometimes are a mob's territory zone area...if it's too small.
