This has little to do with being an asshole. I am afraid of heights ergo i will never go sky diving cause i would probably pass out from the fear. That should be the normal human response, right? If you are terribly afraid of something then you avoid it. Ofc you can face it but OP isn't doing that in this case cause they want reality to change to avoid their fears.
Truth is if you are afraid of falling, in this case, the game portraits a HUGE amount of that. Especially in cutscenes. So should we change that too? Or does OP skip every cutscene cause it could have a person falling somewhere in it? What about emotes?
If they have a negative reaction to such stuff then this is simply not the right game for them and i say that with only the best of intentions. Cause we will have falling animations again, over and over everywhere and SE will surely not change the death animation. They don't even give us good settings for colorblind people and that is a HUGE chunk of disabled people playing the game compared to people with phobias.
It has everything to do with being an asshole. Telling people to "uninstall" isn't productive. Either help them out, or tell them that there's nothing that can be done, and be a decent human being while doing either. This has little to do with being an asshole. "I want more content to do" "just uninstall bro"
"you have a fear of something thats regulary portrayed in the game? sorry but this might not be the game for you" "wtf dont tell people to uninstall"

Not sure why you're quoting me with that. I've never told anyone to uninstall for any reason, much less over people asking for more content.
Is this some poor attempt at bait?
I think that was meant at me and they were agreeing with you, like a supporting statement to your argument.
The first sentence is basically a analogy to showcase that telling someone to uninstall is stupid with which they want to support your points. Cause you know people wanting more content is valid feedback and such should be probably asking for changes to consider phobias?
I don't agree with that still cause phobias are a minority and can't be all taken into consideration cause they are so numerous, unlike content demands which are basically why we all are playing the game overall. Or most players at least, i know Titanmen only plays XIV for the forums.
Then tell me what the other option is for a person that gets quite often very uncomfortable through triggers inside the game? They could learn to live with it but as seen by the forum post that's not their preferred route of dealing with their problem. SE won't solve it for them so the most logical way to deal with it is avoiding the trigger which is the game.
There are thousands of phobias out there, many of them more common than what OP has. The fear of blood for example, yet we see (rarely) blood ingame. Or the fear of spiders, which is also one of my big phobias and they are ingame.
While the "then just quit" sounds probably very rude it is a viable solution if OP doesn't want to confront and overcome these triggers. Cause they won't go away. There will be a cutscene again where someone falls with no warning and it will make them uncomfortable again. The question is how mentally draining this is for OP, some people get deeply affected mentally and even physically through stress induced by phobias. High heart rate and high blood pressure just being two of the side effects which is how you probably know not that healthy.
So yes, uninstalling the game would be an easy solution to that. The much harder solution is to confront the fears. And while i have sympathy for OP, there is no chance that SE will ever change any of that.
