Request: Matte versions of the Abyssos and Anabaseios armour

The recent raid gear sets have got all out on the cool glowy factor. Crystals and sparkles and flames (oh my) all over them and floating around them, which is great if people like that approach, but I just want the designs without all that.

Can we please get a version of the head and chest gear pieces that has no special effects on it?

Maybe put it on the same vendor and the same price as the glowy version, or give some kind of augmentation item perhaps.

They're cool designs but it feels like they're going to waste. In particular, the swirling fire ring on the Abyssos fending/maiming armour makes me queasy to look at it, making it impossible to use the armour even if it looks good. And the DPS coats just look like cool coats but I don't necessarily want them to be on fire.

    Bump for visibility.

It feels like such a missed opportunity that they didn't make effects-vs-non-effects the defining point between normal and savage gear, instead of the usual dyeable/undyeable divide.

Instead they should just have a toggle. You do know what would happen if the implemented it your way right? Effects would be limited to savage mode, and be rendered inaccessible to certain players.

That sort of thing is perfectly acceptable if they make the normal gear able to be dyed. No different than shiny Ultimate weapons, after all.

This is also what I proposed in a thread some time ago (see here).

Hopefully they'll implement this for not only these but other types of gear and especially chestpieces.

A toggle for chest pieces would be great, but I think you're shooting your own idea in the foot by pairing it in the same request as removing level restrictions, which is highly unlikely to happen.

They are two different suggestions condensed in the same thread and both probably require some time from the developers to implement.

However, removing the level restriction of glamor when you are able to equip both items is long overdue, especially if we consider that the problem will also extend to level 90 content when new glams are released in Dawntrail.

That's exactly my point. They are two different suggestions. By putting them together, if one is rejected out of hand then the other may not get a glance, and there is no indication of which proposal the "likes" are actually in support of.

And no, I don't particularly think we're "long overdue" to glamour high-level pieces onto lower ones, especially if it's going to take development time away from other bigger problems. You can just find an outfit that works at the lower level. I'm still using some glamours that were viable at level 50 or 60.

Only temporarily inaccessible until the next expansion, like the dyeable gear and weapons already are. I can't do savage raids at level. (Well, maybe I could be I don't really try.)

Anyway, if it was up to what I think looks better, the tacky fireworks would be on the normal mode and clean versions on the savage.

Every suggestion is going to take development time away from something else, including the very one you propose in this thread. That should never be an excuse for us to ask the devs to change things for the better and for them to implement them, in my opinion, because they have the resources and the means to do so.
