    DNC Limit Break

    Hi Devs,

Can you tell me why dancers lb takes forever to activate? I mean I understand we do this little dance but can we just skip all of that and activate it instantly. There has been so many times as I’m dancing I get Whm poly, knocked back by either mch or MNK and just a list of things.

Please make it go off instantly like most LB’s do to avoid this mess from happening. Thank you.

I wouldn't say instantly, but it could use a bit of speeding up at the start and also near the end of the animation so you can Honing Dance in time to extend the duration of Charmed.

Contradance is a really potent support Limit Break. Yes it may be more difficult to make use of it in lower ranks but in the gem ranks and above it is fairly strong for a mere 90s charge time.

Yeah I was frustrated when I wrote this but I’ve calmed down since then lol. You’re right. Just speed it up a bit. Don’t have to be instant.

It snapshots almost instantly. What takes ages is the crowd control resolution to take effect, which is around 2s, and can mean that the opponents have some time to take their distances if they can before they lose control of their characters.

I think Contradance takes such a long time to resolve because it's so powerful. If it resolved any faster you'd be able to reactively Guard break/ cancel Resilience on multiple players, rather than having to coordinate well with allies to do so.

Being blown up or eating a timely stun to prevent extending the Charm is intended, and it means that Contradance is a challenging LB to execute well. It's got a huge range of outcomes.

On the short list, don't be the first player to start an engagement if you're leading with Contradance, and try to combo with allies doing stuff that will be Guarded, Purified, or limit enemy movement.

Oh yeah, and make sure your team is ready. Nothing is sadder than hitting 5x4sec Charms, nailing an entire Honing Dance, and then the enemies just Recouperating to full because no one on your team realized you were doing it. This is way more demoralizing than just immediately getting clapped when you start it. Who knows why your DRG was hiding in Guard right next to you...

Wait? Your telling me you can coordinate with your team in a no chat random matchmaking PvP mode?
In my experience my party will be off on the other side of the map chasing one person kiting them while im stuck wondering WTH? Watching the enemy push the crystal and stunlock me lol.
I barely get to use Contradance and when i do? I get stunned or casually burst down before the cast finishes. Dancers dont have the survivability for a LB like this.

Yes you can coordinate it or at least do your part by using quickchat actions, including those dedicated to Limit Breaks. Just like how people seemingly burst you down rather coordinated you can use Contradance the same way.

Furthermore, Contradance is not a Limit Break you engage with, it is one you use when someone else already engaged, like a Dragoon who activates their Limit Break or when you have multiple players guarding (which also plays well with the former).

As a DNC you have a lot of mobility with En Avant and semi-ranged attacks, it is your job figuring out when to sideline and build for Saber Dance and when to engage for Contradance or Honing Dance.

Lastly, if your whole team is chasing someone ignore the Crystal and go with them. Better let them have Crystal progress and return as a team than being a solo defender and damage your own LB economy by dying.
