Hello FFXIV team!
Like so many other members of the XIV community, I was eagerly anticipating patch 6.4 for a multitude of reasons. None more so than the fan-design contest weapons finally being implemented. As a samurai main I was looking forward to the Higan Shigan fan-design contest winner weapon above all others! This marked the 1st time in the game that samurais were able to have a wakizashi on their waist along with their katana, something that had me and others like me very excited!
However, there is a very pronounced visual discrepancy with how that weapon is displayed on female Roegadyn characters. The wakizashi in the weapon placement on female Roegadyns clips directly through their left arms when the katana is unsheathed, and not just through their clothing either but right through the model of their left arms.
The quickest way to fix the issue is to align the Higan Shigan weapon further out from the waist on female Roegadyns. But if in keeping with the continuity of how female characters wear/hold their samurai weapons in the game, then the Higan Shigan weapon needs to be remodeled with the wakizashi being worn bellow the katana instead of above it. This will allow the Higan Shigan weapon to be worn/wielded by female Roegadyns without having the wakizashi clip directly through their left arms.
I have been looking forward to having this weapon in the game all the way back since April of 2022 when the winners were announced, and now over a year later when it's finally available, I was disappointed that quality control did not catch such a major visual oversight... Due to our muscular physiques, female Roegadyns are the ones who have this visual discrepancy with the Higan Shigan weapon. On behalf of all female Roegadyns, I am asking for a solution. Thank you kindly in advance for looking into this!
Sincerely,
A passionate samurai enthusiast!
