I can confirm, i'm sufferting the same issue. Im lossing all audio randomly, then if i try to log off i can't do it, just black screen.
Never happened before, just after the patch.
Same, seems to be a new issue that has propped up. It is really annoying specially when its right in the middle of a cutscene and now you are forced to END PROCESS and restart the game. Then after that you have to skip all the dialogue to get to the part you were on if its a long cut scene. I know the devs are prob swamped with bug reports right now, but this really feels game breaking to the point I dont even want to play since I wont enjoy it as I will be forced to restart randomly.
My friend Dhalia have the same problem. Apparently the from what the lodestone said for upcoming 6.4 hot fixes maintenance:
“This maintenance will address an issue which causes servers to crash under certain conditions.
As for the issue stated in the separate news titled "Issue with Sound Not Playing Under Certain Conditions on the Windows® version", it will require approximately two weeks to be addressed. We ask for your patience and understanding.”

I am having the same exact problems here as well. I hope they get this fixed soon.
try to change from boot\ffxivboot.exe -> boot\ffxivboot64.exe
If you are using a controller, try to deactivate its functions.
control panel -> HW -> sound -> deactivate controller (audio/microphone)

I can confirm this problem as well.
I have already updated my chipset and audio drivers but usually around the 3 hour mark is when the audio completely bottoms out. Doesn't matter what I am doing in game, either in a dungeon or hanging out by the FC house. FF14 is the only application it does this in. I usually have Spotify open or a stream going on that doesn't show any issues with audio.
Never had this issue before till 6.4 was released.
Restarting the game is the only thing I have found to correct this.
I didn't see that maintenance note, and had opened a support ticket. The people manning the support desk seem absolutely incapable of deviating from the script and were requesting the serial number for my authenticator and wanting to know my security questions. (Not asking my questions to verify my identity, mind. Wanting me to tell them my questions. If they had just said 'Oh hey, just so you know, this is a known thing' I could have saved 2 days of increased frustration.
Same issue of me. Load up the game was perfect audio, then 30-45s later no sound at all.
Any idea if we will retrieve an update when the sound maintenance will fix the issue? I plan to only re-subscribe when the audio is fixed.
Has the audio issue been solved in this latest patch? I was one of the ones where the audio cut-out after 30-40 minutes. I've held back on progressing quest line as i would like to hear the sound. The issues was recognized two weeks ago - and it was said it would take two weeks to resolve - but i have not heard any further comment from SE as to whether the issue has been resolved....
