To the dev team, thank you ( WARNING SPOILERS)

Wanted to say thank you for the painting. It now takes pride of place in my home, under a small glowing flower bouquet.

Werlyt was bittersweet, a bloody hard fought victory, but at a horrific cost. That Gaius' children died, their souls swallowed by that sick perversion of a cyborg was gutwrenching, seeing that slimy, psychotic....person's..face again made me wish at that moment for the WoL to draw their firearm and put one between his eyes, point blank range.

But it wasnt him. Nor an Ascian.

It was some fool whose mania made him resculpt his face as a "tribute" to a man whose ideals now rest in the ashes of his former homeland.

Those "ideals", "Conquer, Rule" led to what Garlemald became, how it was fated to end, and in all honesty, shared the fate of Cardassia at the hands of the Dominion.

As Damar would have said:

"His Garlemald is gone, and is never coming back."

The painting brings closure to that arc, and maybe, in some small way, their fates were not in vain after all. They remain, in memory bright.

Perhaps , death too has its exceptions.

I went home and immediately put it up on my wall, too. That was a gut-punch of a story and getting that as the reward was the biggest gut-punch. But Werlyt itself was like that so it was incredibly fitting.
