What a thrill...
I do enjoy the new difficulty of things. The new trial is chaotic fun, as are the raids. Some of course being a bit easier than others, but it doesn't change the fun involved.
But sadly the monkey's paw is real.
I'm sure the fix will be in momentarily to nerf the bosses like they did to thunder god cid (maybe I'm being too cynical I guess).
I'd say the fights were pretty much perfect for normal-tier.
Not esoteric and not unfair while also demanding people pay a bit of attention.
This thread: Showing how the negative players WILL NOT allow anyone to have a difference of opinion with them without attacking relentlessly.
EDIT:
Agreed. They were a little rough for normal players, but mostly fair, and getting a few vets in the DF means your party will probably be able to clear. They might should have toned down the Trial a bit since it's part of the MSQ, but it was overall about the right difficulty.
Hilarious that there's another thread talking about how the game is a cakewalk and the same people badmouthing OP here are in 100% agreement with the OP there...

These are definitely not the hardest normal raids to happen on release. I remember older raids like certain alex or omega tiers being harder than these.
That difficulty only exists on release day. Once everyone knows the fight and has got the new gear, it gets absolutely destroyed.
If the aoes happen too fast, it's because they were telegraphed in a way you did not notice (colors, symbols, cast name specifying the direction or type of aoe), or patterns you are meant to get used to.
For me personally, I figured out the mechanics of one of the fights after just a few casts and was able to anticipate all the other mechanics without getting any vulns like everybody else was. I was able to wing the first fight in a similar way.
Another of them was extremely well telegraphed with new telegraphs or I'd just done too many fights in the game that there wasn't any mechanic getting me. The last one got everyone and killed many people over and over, at one point even healers, and caused us to need to wipe it, but once we got used to what it was doing it became really easy.
In other news, there is no technical debt from 1.0.
"We don't have ... a technological issue that was carried over from 1.0, because ARR was meant to kind of discard what we had from 1.0 and rebuild it from the engine."

I tried the 4 new raids yesterday evening with random people over the duty finder. My random groups finished all 4 raids at least on the second try, and we were all new to the raid bosses
I found the raids and mechanics not very hard or difficult. I have seen much more harder and difficult raids in the past. Personally, I would say the the first 3 raids has easy to normal difficulty level and the last boss has a little bit more complex mechanics, but it is also normal to to.
Also the Goblez trial was not very hard to do on the first try with randoms![]()

You're probably missing a tell on the AoEs and that's okay because people are going to miss that when they first run it until they're able to learn that mechanic. It's okay to miss a cast to move since learning the fight is going to be more important at first.
This tier had some spice to it but it's overall at a good place for normal raid content.
I think the most confusing part is the new markers, otherwise it's simply a new coat of paint over things we already know.
P9 and P10 had me a bit more focused, I enjoyed these. P11 and P12 were a bit lackluster in my opinion.
One thing is I'm happy with them trying new things with arena. It's not the first time, but it's always more engaging than generic circle arena suspended in the void.
