PSA: People trying to Scam with "Quitting FFXIV, giving away Gil" messages.

Just a Heads up that there is a surge recently of people trying to get you to put in your Account information into a Address that looks almost identical to the official Squeenix website.

They have normal Player names and claim to stop playing ffxiv while apparently giving away 300 Mil. DO NOT follow that Link. It leads to a site that will steal your Information.

I had multiple such messages lately and it is ALWAYS the same thing. "Quitting FFXIV, 300m giveaway starting in 15mins: (link removed)"

That message might change in the future.

Be careful out there.

Always take a look as well on the link they put in, should be obvious

always check links enix.com-qt.us the .com-qt.us alone should raise suspecion, or whichever

I have been playing since shortly before HW came out and i never had one of those. Suddenly my Wife and me get multiple in a few days. I just meant to warn people who were also not aware of this.

Closest I've seen to this is someone in Sharlyan shouting that they were giving away all the items for the highest possible score for the current fashion report. My immediate thought was why aren't they at the MGS doing that. If you're going to scam, at least increase your chances for success.

Nothing new but never against people reminding it here and there, would be lying if i didn't say i've seen various cases happening as obvious as it may seem

They have been happening for years. Every so often someone comes onto these forums and does a PSA. But almost everyone here already knows because this place is where veterans come to complain about how the game used to be back in their day and it's unusual for them to have never heard of these tells.

It's possible to have not got them maybe because of your name being low down in the alphabet.

This isn't anything new but the reminder is necessary. I have had a friend and knew another new player that fell for these. Like the discord scams that steal your account, I think it's okay to remind people once in a while that these scams are active.
