Petition to reinstate TAIL KEEPERS!

I'll keep it short.

You intended to make FFXIV a whole new game in its own right. New story, new world, new battle mechanics, new FF. Yet staring us right in the face is a constant reminder of the origins of FFXIV. The races of Eorzea are near direct copies of those found in Vana'diel. You did this to help transition your player base into a new client. You felt it was the 'safe' thing to do.

Well that's just dandy but you left one VERY important aspect out. The Roegadyn deserve their tails back. I don't care if you say they aren't Galkas. They are. If you are going to recycle the likeness of a race for profit and gain then you dang well better face up to responsibilities that en-tails. You must be true to their nature and the fact of the matter is Roegadyn do not feel primal anymore. Lack the aura of boding yet calm power that the Galkan race instilled in both friends and foes. As it stands we are just plus sized Hyurs and it feels very very wrong.

All we ask is this. Give us back our tails. You can further corrode the lore and majesty of the race by inflicting additional genders but at least give us something iconic and comforting as a severance. Post your thoughts fellow Roes. I've spoken with as many as I can find and there is a staggering amount of negative opinion towards the loss of tails from FFXI players. I feel this is the general consensus of the majority of Roegadyn players and thus your paying customers.

I don't know about you but I hate the lack of distinctiveness between the races. As it is we got Hyurs, Short Hyurs, Tall Hyurs, Hyurs that cosplay as nekos, and bulking Hyurs.

Why wouldn't he obsess over it? Lots of us played galkas for years on FFXI, and now suddenly everyone but the galka have options to look pretty much like they did in FFXI. Playing a character for years, you tend to build a bond to it. And while other people get to look much like they did in vanadiel, the galka... dont.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying roegadyns should be forced to have tails. but add in an subclan that looks like the galka, (tail, more beastlike face, 4 fingers instead of 5, etc) so that those of us with nostalgia for their galka chracters can be happy too!

I agree, it is a fantasy world.. needs a little more ugly, it has plenty of beauty. Doesn't mean we can't have both?

If its something that can be customized then ofcourse by all means do it.

It doesn't have to be the same tail.

I'd imagine on Rogadyn males the tail sold be more stout and perhaps shorter than that of their Galkan counterparts to reflect the build. On females the tail would be thinner, possibly ending in a lion-esque tuft or some sort of demon point or something.

There are about a billion ways tails can work and we don't have to use the exact same one from XI.

Compromise is a wondrous thing innit'? Seems like the best way to go about the Wagglepiece Stimulus Act is to add it as an option during character creation. Perhaps even make it sub-race specific to the Hell Guard since they mimic the habits of the ancestors.

We wouldn't want to step on any tails in terms of forcing the look on Roegadyn who prefer the old design so this works out for everyone!

As a means of getting a somewhat accurate tracking please 'Like' this original post if want Roegadyns to have the choice of reclaiming their tail or if you are indifferent and are not directly against the notion. If not please post your thoughts anyways. It is good to get your thoughts out there!

On that note... I'd like to see a lot more differences between tribes....
Keeper of Sun and Keeper of moon... One could look like current Miqo'te and the other could look more Mithra-like

There is a slight difference between the two. KoM Miqo'te have longer, slender tails than KoS.

The biggest thing I see holding back giving Roegadyn a tail. Is all gear would have to get new meshes and would have to be redesigned from the ground up.

I would like to see new tribes that were called "Destroyers of the Sun" and "Destroyers of the Moon" that had really evil features, longer claws... maybe more visible fangs

Besides, if you've done the latest poll then you have already voted on the kind of race you want to see, I'd imagine.

I'd rather be without the tail.

I think the community is putting way too much emphasis on race options and total race selections for 2.0.
