The reason its so bitter. Is because people need something to complain about. This game shows you what happen when people don't play enough MMO and only play this game. So when they see fault in this game they instantly think the game is dying, dead, or just the devs don't care. Thus showing how much of an echo chamber it is. Sadly if these same people oh IDK touch a bit of grass, played some mmo like PERFECT WORLD, SEEN HOW PSO 2 NGS started and how its still in confusing state or just look at josh strife hayes worse mmo's ever. You would see you have it much better...but for people to do that would mean you are shattering there perspective world and thus they must push their bounty full misery onto others to make themselves feel good.

But seriously what do I know im just a crafter in the world of ff14 this forum checks out just right seems about right for the same type of people who need to harasses others for skipping the story . Stay strong stay safe and remember Misery Loves company...TOODLES.

It doesn't make XIV look better, it's just making it look incompetent with MMO basics. How would they know what was wrong, if they didn't have a reference to what was right?

I've played other games before this one and I'll sometimes occasionally get around to playing other games alongside this one (I'd have more time if I didn't have an alt addiction) and the simple conclusion is that no game is perfect. You just need to play things until you find one that you connect with, play and enjoy it, and eventually move on. If you enjoyed it and/or it gets additional content, you come back to it and continue enjoying it until you're done with it again.

Maybe it's a different outlook because I'm mostly into single-player games besides this one. You don't expect them to go on forever. Each one has its own clever aspects and flaws, and if you enjoy the good parts more than you dislike the bad parts, you play it until you get to the end, then stop, and go on to find a new game to replace it.

I haven't reached the point where I've run out of things to do (again, alt addiction with glamour collecting and a tendency to start yet another one if I'm anywhere near to finished) but when I break away to play other things, there are good and bad aspects of other games relative to this. I miss the auto-run and the text log to review what was said in cutscenes; I enjoy having a single solid protagonist but miss customisability; I might enjoy a better inventory system or discover one so bad that it makes FFXIV's look simple and intuitive. Imagine something with all the negatives of FFXIV's inventory plus NO CURRENCY so you have to barter for everything and are never sure what obscure materials you need to be carrying.

I don't see the point in being annoyed that you "have to" go play other games sometimes to fill in your time. Unsub from this for a few weeks, spend your time and money getting enjoyment from something fresh. Nothing is holding you permanently hostage here – houses can be left for a month and a half before you need to sub again.

Seems like a stark contrast of those inside the game. Everyone's so nice and positive, and the story generally seems to be well liked by the players.

Then I come here and it seems like every topic on the front page is just negative, angry, or bitter.
