On a serious note, I don't think it's an insult, and I believe it comes down to the fact English is not my main language. To me it's simply a description of someone who wishes to protect someone with my ardor and passion because there's nothing wrong anywhere. Defending a company though... Not my cup of tea, you know what I mean? I was like that too when I was younger, until reality hit me and I became much more skeptical and critical.

I'm not sure whether this response is a direct response to me in any shape or form, but I haven't attacked anybody directly for their suggestions and/or improvements. Yes, the whole system is flawed, but it's unfortunate this is the way it's going to be, unless we wanna be on copium for 7.0. Either way, I'm still going to play the game regardless, just not healers in general. My main issue is that SE seems to be scared of change.

There's like 30 people constantly posting here at most. You can find more people in a single Limsa/Ul'Dah/Gridania instance. Don't trust these forums. Get the popcorn though.

Forum posters are a small, self-selecting, non-representative sample of the player base. That's all.

But seriously RP community needs to step their game up too. I'm sick of bartending and seeing mary sue characters who've "slayed thousands of goblins", or the edgy broody characters that don't want you to speak to them but want you to pay attention to them anyway. Please, just go to Balmung and have them... whip you into shape.

My character has factually killed thousands of coblyns and doblyns.... Because that was one of the best ways to level in 1.0 while solo.

From mythflox and Alexander I've probably killed thousands of goblins by now as well.

I've also had the "kill 200k enemies" achievement since it was added like what, 8 years ago now, so my count must be way higher now.

I don't RP tho so it's more just curiosity.

Although I will also both praise and criticize the forum moderators to allow the freedom for people to post and express whatever even if its overly negative, but also they need to at least start moderating and interacting more with the community if we want the forums to not be such a cesspool and more to be constructive.

But this is also the internet so even as I write this, no matter what, forum culture will always be forum culture anyway.

"Forum culture" is what the moderators make it. Allowing people to openly criticise the game itself is not the same thing as allowing personal attacks on those who disagree, or allowing the same person to flood the forum with multiple threads on slightly different versions of the same complaint.

Active moderators could be managing the forum so much better without having any impact on people's ability to post criticism of the game itself.
