Echo chambers. Besides that though... a lot of people in-game are absolutely fake. Worse case scenario is that people are passive aggressive with you most of the time because GMs will take action in most cases, so any rudeness, any meanness, any negativity in general is going to be found outside of the game.

By nice and positive do you mean saying only "o7" and "gg" in chat?Seems like a stark contrast of those inside the game. Everyone's so nice and positive, and the story generally seems to be well liked by the players.
Then I come here and it seems like every topic on the front page is just negative, angry, or bitter.
What's the deal?
I saw my fair share of negativity in the game, not from the bots or the always afkers of course. Those don't write at all.
Will put you on ignore if you can't form a logical argument but argue nonetheless

If you call Aveyonds diatribes and rants, "valid feedback". Which no one does, because it isnt, it wasnt and it never was.For all their fabled negativity, all the legitimate critique I've seen poster her thus far has come from the "Negative Nancies".
Oh you mean people who actually dare to disagree? Sorry, Towa, barking up the wrong tree there.poor-faith posters

The fact that that poster is apparently the only qualified reference says so much more about you than it ever could about me. Frankly, that poster wasn't even on my radar as to posters with valid critique so I'm not even entirely sure which angle of attack you're even attempting here.
How odd. In the past, the same has been insinuated of others but from the opposing angle. I suppose we're operating on the philosophy of "Regulations for thee, but not for me" here? I'll adjust my conduct appropriately, then. Regardless, this isn't going anywhere productive and I've said all I intended to. Good day, Sir VelKallor.

I'm not going to read this entire thread because there's only so much brain damage I can take in one day, but the short version is that these forums comprise a tiny, angry majority. The best information we have is that FF14 has had steady, continuous growth through its lifetime with with a significant jump around the release of Endwalker. We also know that most of the people who started playing around Endwalker's launch are still playing, which is really unusual for even successful multiplayer games. In other words, veteran players are still playing and there is a steady stream of new people. People like the available content, they like the story, they like the direction the game is going in. Don't come to General Discussion for actual discussion about the game, come to laugh at people who insist that THIS patch is the one where they stop playing forever.

Good for them. Why is it always "active characters" by the way? Not accounts? They buffed available chars per server for basic subscriptions, didn't they? Also why is it so weirdly worded? "The maximum level is 60 or higher (not including just 60) OR Jobs that cannot be released in the free trial OR FC affiliation" is a weird way of saying "not in free trial" or what am i missing here? I also don't know what they mean with "Akatsuki characters".
It's always the others that have the burden of proof. You never change![]()

This shows they login for patch week, nothing else.
People traveling through a city doesn't mean they're all residents. This proves we have more character logins within a wide period, not that we have more player engagement. Do you people even know how the data is aggregated? You all keep spouting that it's actually 'Active' Players. That's misrepresentation. It counts any character level 60+ that's logged in within that 2 month period and gained a minion, mount, or exp. This counts all the alts made for Dynamis. Did you forget how many characters people made to get houses during the rush? The numbers aren't even good. They're stagnant. I'm surprised it's not more, I have a few alts past 60 that I login to at least once a month, I bet you do too.
Using Lucky Brancho like it's Active Players is kinda cringe. I wish we had that many active players.
I could be totally wrong though, what if everyone really IS doing Island Sanctuary for hours a day? Maybe they're also all repeatedly doing Variant solo? lol
I'm glad the game is overall healthy, it's just not fun to actively play past MSQ. But that's anecdotal - I'm sure there are plenty of people having fun with something.
I bet if we had real 'Active Player' data, we'd see higher highs, but lower lows. We'll either see a new jump for 7.0, or a drop. But maybe you can all make enough alts to counter-balance it. It really is a gamble at this point though.
Is it.. Is it all Titanmen? ..![]()

Tiny majority? Lol. Only catched that now. Already mentioned the weird statistic. Remember: if it makes money it's good! No complains allowed! Remember that about Diablo IV, TLoZ:TotK and the rest. Did Cyberpunk make buck? If so how dare people complained about it's bugs!!! It made money! And had players!!! Are people that actually think like this the reason the Pokemon games with backgrounds that would look embarrassing in 2004 were the fastest selling switch games?

after 10 years tho, the game should honestly start coasting on its success, games need to bow down for other games lol i dont see why people are mad over a game? i would be surprised if yoshi p was still producer and director in 5 years
