Ok um lets go over these points of yours one by one:

1. Enjoyable Story? Yeah buddy, Story is just story. Its a one and done thing and if you havent realized the length of story through patch cycle has been closely the same damn length. If you're complaining that the current one is bad, then ok thats fine. But If we're arguing about "content" then story isnt one of these points as it has been consistently the same experience in previous patches.

2. Raids. Again, if you actually pay attention to content release patch cycle, the game has been releasing alliance and normal raids at the same rate in post-expansions. What the hell did Ivalice/Omega + Nier/Eden did differently in its design to warrant retention?

3. Feast. And now its been traded for Crystalline Conflict and seasonal pvp rewards system with EW. In this case, we gained +1 reason to do more pvp because of it besides just exp and achievements.

4. Bozja/Eureka. I'll be amazon prime one body slam, coming your way. Bozja and Eureka are NOT good retention content. If you actually bother to check the forums during the SB/ShB era, you'll realize there were more strife than fun to be had. Also I actually tested how quickly I can get to progress one zone at a time within a given patch of its release via an alt. Guess what? I was right, you actually can do everything within a week or so in single zone of Eureka or Bozja. Hardly enough retention time to warrant the 4 months as you also claim.

5. Dungeons. It really sucks that we dont get extra optional dungeons anymore ever since Shb. Although I also argue that the extra dungeon content pre-Shb didnt do much to retain players anyway, because like everything else in this game, things are a one and done deal for most of it. The reason anyone would want more dungeons is to flavor up the game's world and to add more varied dungeon content at the roulette but nobody is going to just spam dungeons (besides glam runs) for the fun of it. There's no lasting system attached to it for endgame progression like Mythic+ which gets cycled in seasons (an idea I wish FFXIV adopted somehow).

All in all, you have failed to properly explain what any of these in previous expansions actually held retention. Because by the looks of it, the quality and systems are the exact same as Endwalker's.

And please for the love of god if you actually say Bozja/Eureka I swear to Hydaelyn I will electronically body slam you so far hard into the ground until everyone in this godsforsaken forum understands to get off their nostalgia glasses and realize that exploratory content was dull, boring, meaningless and the progression can be just as done as how any other content patch cycle which is about a few days or a week even casually.

Bozja was some of the best content that we got, with duels, 3 48-man raids, 1 Savage 48-man raid, and a few interesting CEs. It also offered Lost actions which significantly changed how certain jobs play like WAR + Blood Rage, BLM + Chainspell etc, honestly that in itself is excellent content

Then again I understand 90% of you white knights get a panic attack if someone says hi to you so having an instance full of people and huge raids will push you into depression or some shit

Oh wow, already twisting your own narrative? I thought this was about retention but now you''re going back and arguing about quality?

If this is about quality, then alright lets entertain that. Same question, Different subject. What exactly did previous expansions do that had better quality? Hopefully you can give me something more substantial than just listing the content.

The fact that you continue to repeat the word "cringe" as a defense mechanism is pathetic in itself.

He/she hasn't said anything incorrect though. For the most part EW has the exact same cadence of content. Nothing's really changed, but a lot of people are suddenly complaining about it out of nowhere. They are also correct that Eureka and Bozja were wildly unpopular at release. I hated Bozja with every fiber of my being and wanted a new deep dungeon over it and we got exactly that this expansion and I'm quite happy with it.

My only complaint this expansion is the failure of the new variant/criterion dungeons, because they are extremely fun, but there's no carrot to draw people in to play them. They could have easily been a mythic+ type content or some kind of midcore end game progression if SE wasn't so afraid of changing their gear progression system.
