    FFXIV - Whats the Update for AT&T server lag - NOT FIXED

    Legit question....what is a realistic eta Square on when this will be resolved......because it is not!!!!

    Hello,

    Unfortunately NTT does not have an ETA for the US peering congestion with AT&T. This issue has been escalated to the highest
    technical levels within NTT to try to alleviate the congestion as much as possible, however the root of the issue cannot be fixed
    without additional capacity. Our peering team is still in communications with AT&T with the hopes of increasing capacity, however,
    due to NDA we are unable to disclose specifics.

    Call me a cynical asshole, but when I read this - all I see is: "We're negotiating a new rate/deal with AT&T."

    Its about money. They're inconveniencing AT&T customers specifically right now to try to broker better bargaining. Apparently they did this with Xfinity customers last year as well.

    Playing on console with at&t so i'm especially screwed since i don't have easy vpn options

    I mean...it does seem pretty weird that billion dollar corporations would be getting hung up on an intermediate networking issue if that's all that this was. So you might be on to something.

    I don't think you're wrong at all. NTT keeps putting threads other places and saying things like AT&T won't pay for increased capacity and that it's a peering issue where AT&T won't pay for the equipment...

    It's a pissing contest to see who is going to have to pay to update that Sacramento node, istg....
