No Justice/Little Punishment for Non Participation in frontlines.

So this is going to get very petty clearly. You can tell by the name of the title. I fully expect to get roasted in any comments.

But it would seem that FF14 does not care if you add a botting program that has you run your character into the enemy all the time. Adding Battle Highs to the enemy team, losing your team points and just blatantly making it harder for others. Perhaps because it was their first offense that they only received two days of suspension.

And you might ask: "Well, how do you know they are botting? They could just be bad!" When their MCH buff hasnt changed all match, they start chasing other bots across the field where none of them are attacking each other, and at the end of the match, it shows they have done 0 damage, despite being a ranged class. If you're bad at pvp, there's at least indications that you put in effort by at least having damage on the stat screen. I cant imagine someone actually going through the entire frontline chasing another person and not doing anything so they can be purposely killed.

But its quite clear that you are allowed to do this to your team, farm exp to get from a 50MCH to a 90 MCH, farm the moogletomes, farm exp for all your other classes. Get a two day suspension, and then go right back to it. No revert of levels from breaking the TOS. No ban from them participating in frontlines again. Just hoping someone doesnt report you again, which is highly likely, from all the people I saw in the frontlines supporting them when they were called out.

I get it. Frontlines are a clustercluck. But some of us actually put effort into playing despite how unbalanced it could be. To me, its just unfair. Sure, its petty to try and get someone in trouble, but they shouldn't be allowed to do what they did and only get a slap on the wrist for it.

Unfortunately that is the state of pvp. It's content that ISN'T supposed to be taken seriously. There isn't really much you can do when you have those that accepts that sort of behavior. I mean, sure; you can report that person, but what do you do if you see multiple players freely doing this at once? Is reporting all people even worth at that point.

I get that we need a lot more invested into pvp. We need better moderation when it comes to botters in general and wintraders in Crystal Conflict. We need some QOL changes to pvp like diminishing returns being added for both similar buffs and crowd controls or actual better custom options for pvp matches like they have for pve things. We want more done. However, if people are caring more about how much experience points they received and not about the actual wins and losses why should the devs be obligated to put in more work for us? While we can blame the devs for certain things the core problem is that we are just not serious about pvp as a whole. Just saying.

I agree that it shouldn't be taken seriously. Its a side piece of content for people to do. However, I do believe in reporting them all. More people should report them. The reporting system is very easy to do nowadays. Because if the punishment is severe enough, nobody will actually risk their character. (I should clarify, this person is using a botting program and not one of those random generated bots with weird names. They have a bunch of mounts and minions according to their lodestone)

And of course, I agree that we need them to invest a lot more into pvp and moderation. Wins are wins and losses are losses, but freeloading should be unacceptable. I know I'm probably screaming into the void and acknowledge how petty it is, but I wish they would do more about clear non participation.

Meh, its just frontlines. 2 or 3 people being "afk" makes little difference in a mode of pure zerging with 72 players.

hate the guy or not, hes right and nobody wants to sit down and take time out of their day to report some dumb putz that may or may not be botting.. its not like in other games where one can simply right click and report for bot activity.
no we have to sit down and basically file taxes to report somebody, which honestly im thankful for because people in this game are VERY VERY PETTY and if you are TECHNICALLY breaking the rules, square mods will run hands on you, they do not care.

no we have to sit down and basically file taxes to report somebody, which honestly im thankful for because people in this game are VERY VERY PETTY and if you are TECHNICALLY breaking the rules, square mods will run hands on you, they do not care.

How is that anything close to filing taxes? You realize they made the pvp reports a lot easier, right? 2 minutes max while waiting for the next frontline.

Again, I'm screaming into the void but the more people that just let it slide, the worse its going to get.

However, if this is the continuous mindset of everyone who sees people purposely throwing themselves into the enemy and actively griefing and botting, I think its clear people just don't actually want things to get better.
