Happening to me as well! I've noted the comment below as I do typically play full screen and maybe why task manager close has not been an option. I've had to Alt Ctrl Del to access the power option to restart my system for access to my desktop. I've submitted a ticket, experience tells me I won't hear back. I've also been hit by the no sound bug. I use a gamepad. If I log with the gamepad connected no sound. If I log with the gamepad disconnected I have sound but, as soon as I reconnect the gamepad I loose sound. I cannot recover sound by disconnecting the gamepad, have to reboot. Windows sound settings working fine on all other apps. What a mess.

it will probably amount to nothing but i sent the ntt thread+some context on the situation to a few gaming news outlets and if you feel as strongly enough about it, give that a try too

It also wouldn't be so bad if the netcode of this game wasn't so terrible with even a modest amount of latency.
But good luck getting a Japanese company to care about netcode, 10 years later they still won't acknowledge the issues that XIVAlexander and NoClippy fix.
