Is it common to have tons and tons of names on your blacklist?

My blacklist is empty, I don't even block RMT bots and spammers, because they seem to just make a new character and bypass my block.

Yet I see a lot of people who feel very proud of having a lengthy blacklist.

Usually the people I see bragging about their blacklists are terminally online raiders who call everyone they dislike trolls and griefers.

And of course, almost their entire blacklist is comprised of people they meet in pf.

To which I ask, is it common to have 100+ names on your blacklist and is that a healthy way to play this game?

Is it common to have a full blacklist? Yes
Is it healthy to have a full blacklist? Subjectively speaking, probably not. A full blacklist probably says more about you as a person than those that you have played with. Unless they are RMT.

I have.. 2..

One was just an abusive troll screaming at random people in Limsa (Very unbalanced individual, telling people to kill themselves over a game). No clue why he's not permabanned.
The other was a player that joined an A2C ultimate group with absolutely no idea what he was doing.

I think my blacklist is pretty long but I don’t know how many as I never check it. Certainly not 100+ though.

It contains the names of extremely toxic and rude people (maybe 5-6 people) and those I consider nuisances: venue spammers that fill my chat window with several long messages, those with ridiculous ascii raid macros and sound spammers in raids and pvp (there was that person constantly doing 5 seconds countdowns in frontlines with a sound at the end of every passing second and text line. Healers don’t needs sounds either every time they use a macro. It’s irritating).

as for RMT spammers, I just report them as blacklisting is useless: they disappear fast and reappear under another name.

I think I just have 1 at the moment. I don't even remember why, but it takes quite a bit to make it on there.

I've only blacklisted emote spammers but then removed them once I finished checking my retainers or doing GC turn-ins whatever the case might be. Think I might have one or two still on some alts' blacklists that I forgot to remove. Is it healthy to have an overly full blacklist? Probably not, at least for me I don't like keeping the names of asshats on a list to remind me they exist. And if the rare instance of continued harassment occurs, I report and ignore.

In game I think I have 2 people on mine - people RMT spamming. Most people in-game are pretty nice - even some people on these forums as far as what I've seen in game.

Forums are another story lol.

My blacklist is pretty empty. But the few times I did extremes with randoms in PF, I could seriously see how even Gandhi would rack up a lot of names really fast.

Mine is completely empty but I never build friendships in game to begin with and couldn’t care less about what someone might yell around me
