What is the point of arguing whether having less grind or more grind is good design?

Do what you want and what makes you happy ,
at the end of the day a game is just a game after all.

Except I literally do, is there some transcript you all read from about playing other games and to leave if you have any gripes? Why is it wrong to wish for actual engaging content in a game I’ve really enjoyed until recently?
