Bad lag again with NTT's NA server network

I have Mudfish as well and it's not helping the problem either.

Fun fact: Mudfish, on certain games (like Maplestory), is actually worse because it tethers to all connections and chews through all of your data.

If VPN's aren't helping, it's something more than what we all were facing. Disable WFP mode in Mudfish and don't use fast connect either.

My own traceroute to .85, I don't have any jumps from 128.241.2.18 and the final connection, where as you for some reason, are. Then again, despite being in the midwest, I have 5 less routing jumps than you do.

I don’t know how to do a trace route. I just know that this Sunday was the worst lag I’ve ever experienced. Like every 3 seconds, every action stutters: walking, minions flying, even clicking through menus. It’s been bad for awhile but tolerable. But today? I don’t think I could’ve run a duty successfully had I tried, it was that bad. And it wasn’t even crowded when I was on! Also not a problem on my end, other online games work fine. In PA (Eastern US) on Comcast for what it’s worth.

Thank you! I was able to do the trace route and fill out the form. The issue seems intermittent today, whereas yesterday it was constant. But it's still near constant. For a moment I thought my island was a safe haven from the lag and stuttering, but eventually it followed me there too... *sigh* But no problem at all in Diablo, so I don't think it's my internet.

As someone who is not PC savvy (have always used Macs for work and only have a PC for games), is there some sort of red flag I'm looking for in the trace route? The next to last line (16 of 17) says request timed out. Is that where the problem is?

I've been playing the past 2 days on my normal connection. Looking to be good, but I suddenly had a really bad episode of lag spikes in a dungeon tonight at about 9:45PM eastern US time that lasted about 5 minutes. I never experienced any lag at all in the past 3 weeks on proxy connection, so I'm not sure what to think. Hopefully it's just a weird incident.

So in the last 20 or so minutes, I've noticed a massive hit of latency while I was on ExitLag. A few friends of mine also reported this as well.

Given a look on PingPlotter and look what we see here:


The nodes between Dallas, Los Angeles, San Jose, and Sacremento are all reporting issues with packet loss and latency. In particular, it's these specific nodes:

These are nodes all within' the NTT ISP Network. I don't know what to say, except that NTT and Square Enix needs to stop blaming it on other ISPs. People shouldn't be resorting to VPN Usage to play this game.

Not really knowing how to read these, but my high numbers start in “snjsca” so San Jose? Only in the 80s, but my local numbers are all in the teens. Even so, the stuttering is the worst I’ve ever seen it.

Hooray! My ATT friends got the issue for months -- now it's my turn to have the issue! I'm in Florida with Spectrum and am getting a ping of 160-210 when I'm usually between 80 and 90.

Others in my FC are reporting the same issue… most of us having the problem are in the Eastern US.

Horrible that this still isn’t fixed, but I’m glad it’s not just me! So many here were saying they were finally seeing it get better and mine just got worse!
