I just resubbed yesterday, after all the good reports here. For the most part, the game plays smoothly. But, not in alliance raids. Skills still hang, then rapidly pop off. It's playable, but I don't think it's really fixed on NTT's end. Just better. I'll take it one month at a time. If, when the "new" wears off of Diablo 4 and SF6, things get bad again, then we'll know it was player absence, not NTT, that made things better.

I'm on AT&T, and before the NTT fix, I could avoid issues by using a VPN. However after fix, I now get periodic lag spikes both on and off VPN (I haven't kept track of how often, but it's like once every 30 mins maybe). I'm not sure if this is still an NTT issue, I haven't tried (or really have the tools handy) to do the deeper time-based analysis others have done here.

Over the last few days, my AT&T Internet was acting up, so I had a tech stop by yesterday to look into it.
Turns out, some recent severe weather blew the cover off and there were exposed wires. Suffice it to say, that was a quick fix with a new wire cover and a thorough check of the wires and nearby nodes.

It took an hour-plus of work, but the tech did their job well.

But yes, moral relativism and all that. Case in point - I do not consider you to be truly alive. Ergo, I will not be guilty of murder if I kill you.

Just wanted to thank you for this, I did end up running and logging several pings to various dns servers (google, cloudflare, etc), as well as a couple FFXIV servers. I found that when I started having lag, my pings across the board were bad. I contacted AT&T and they isolated the issue to my modem, so they're sending a replacement. Thanks for the tip!

It never hurts to call them now that the bad node has been kicked; I've had decent luck with that as long as I was specific and it was their system that was going wonky. Their tech support is NOT the best and with us, since we're Uverse (we get phone/internet/cable though our gateway), when they think we need a new gateway, they always send the bloody wrong gateway. We have to have a tech come with one to make sure we get the right one. (And since they tend to reset the connection with us, which potentially could get the brother that works from home and plays WoW VERY mad, I try to be careful when I call. As I kept saying, rather not call over ONE game.)

But yeah, at this point, if you're still getting lag, ping more than XIV stuff then call them. BE SPECIFIC on what's going wonky and they will likely fix it.

Just updating that I've personally continued to raid without a VPN and am not experiencing any issues. Everything is as it used to be. Is it permanent? No idea. Anyone notice how the issue magically went away on a new month? Who knows what July has in store for us.

I've been playing for the last 3 days without a VPN with no issues. About once a night, I'll see one person shoot across the screen but I think it's something on their end. I think this may be resolved.

I don't think this problem ever got resolved, because I still see the same packet loss and warnings coming from the same nodes from weeks prior.
These are the nodes carrying traffic between the NTT Nodes from Dallas-Fort Worth to Los Angeles.

In fact, over the past few weeks, my ping has went from 67 ms to 85 ms now on average. Not even ExitLag has been able to mitigate this problem.

I would go try and use mudfish if your latency is bad. Exitlag is only popular because streamers shove it down everyone's throat. Mudfish, any node should be fine, I personally used US West (Fremont, CA - Aliyun). No sub needed and it's cheap.

I have Mudfish as well and it's not helping the problem either.

Fun fact: Mudfish, on certain games (like Maplestory), is actually worse because it tethers to all connections and chews through all of your data.
