Nord VPN still seems to be a fix.
But its getting ridiculous that we are a day away from 6.4 and there hasn't been any alerts or lodestone changes/announcements regarding this issue. I think this should be passed on to several gaming websites. Get the word out to others so they can comment on this thread. An entire week of this disgusting lagging mess without proper word about fixes is ridiculous.
Keep fighting the good fight!
"Everything was merely a setback."
Glad I found this thread... I registered on forums to find out wtf was going on with my connection. Before the last few days, I'd had a *supremely* good record of no lag. Now that I know I'm not going insane, I can go back to farming prae tomestones and using one ability ever four seconds![]()
If the event weren't going on and I didn't have a house, I'd unsub till they figure this bs out.
Adding my Trace Route info from this evening to this thread. Keeping it going.

Thank you for recommending this! I did same tonight, and went to Paradigm's to test it...I am reasonably functional again.
And I'm really curious what was done a week or so ago to cause all this lag. I feel like some change was made somewhere and it didn't have the right results.
Adding my name here and while I can still play with a VPN, it shouldn't be mandatory while logging in to do casual content. I can't even craft with the ping, macros just end up stopping then hitting three buttons in sequ nce and WHOOPS THERE GOES ALL YOUR MATS IDIOT.
Incredibly frustrating, and this isn't the first time they've had issues with AT&T either. Unfortunately where I'm at it's AT&T or Spectrum, and I'd rather cancel my subscription to XIV than touch Spectrum ever again.
410 days of playtime, ended because SE isn't communicating. How shit is that.
Aye, if I had to guess, something was changed at the node last weekend/before Monday (May 15) that wasn't a good change at all.Thank you for recommending this! I did same tonight, and went to Paradigm's to test it...I am reasonably functional again.

But, lest we forget, there was a reply on Reddit that NTT was still working on the issue (as of Saturday, May 20) with AT&T: https://www.reddit.com/r/ffxiv/comme...mment/jkwjums/
But yes, moral relativism and all that. Case in point - I do not consider you to be truly alive. Ergo, I will not be guilty of murder if I kill you.
"Did you try downloading more RAM?" - SE tech support probably
AT&T customer here. I have U-Verse, not fiber, as many on here have stated they have, but the problem still exists. I am in South Louisiana.
Very disappointed in the lack of updates on the progress of their efforts to resolve this.
I have unsubbed for now. I am not spending my money if I can't play without frustration. Characters appear to run, stop, dart forward, stop again, rinse and repeat. Skills hang and then speedily go off. Enemy skills/attacks cannot be avoided because they go off before there are even any indicators.
Might try the VPN Alajandria mentioned above if NTT, AT&T, AND SE can't get this sorted out soon, but, I have never found it necessary to use a VPN and do not relish the idea of using one just to play a game I have been playing all along (since release) without one.
welp...it was nice while it lasted, which was brief. The free version of Proton doesn't support P2P. It gives me this: "Your connection has been disabled because you are using a server that does not support peer-to-peer (P2P) traffic. P2P is not supported on free servers or servers that are numbered 100 or greater."
