    For what it's worth, here is what AT&T has given me back after some fairly insistent "please escalate this appropriately" requests on my part:

    I sincerely apologize for the inconveniences caused based on info found AT&T's services to get you to the ISPs of those you want to contact. Square Enix subscribes to NTT's services to allow you to connect to their servers.

    Every traceroute I've seen shows that the latency issues begin inside NTT after AT&T hands off the traffic. NTT is not processing traffic properly from AT&T (and, based on the Square Enix posts, some other ISPs as well). So, the correct takeaway is the Square Enix should find a different ISP than NTT, not that any player should switch. A possible workaround would be the VPN solutions work is because it routes the traffic around the bottleneck in NTT's network near the AT&T consumer peering where a lot of consumers come in to a less congested connection.
    I dunno what to do next about this. We aren't NTT's customer. AT&T is saying that it's not their problem. NTT says it's both their problems (generally). Kinda leaves us stuck not being able to do a whole lot, and thus the "please contact your ISP" request from the Lodestone doesn't feel like it's going to get us much of anywhere.

    Wish I could play the game with my kids right now without having to spend a bunch more money and time on VPN re-rerouting. (There's three of us playing, two on PS5.) And I'm not super-interested in the circus that is switching ISPs right now.

    Well SE.... Could you look into changing the ISP for your Data Center? Please.... For your customers... All it takes is a call from you to your data center and see what other providers are around and if it will work.

    yeah i just came back after a few months and im trying everything to fix it i just bought a vpn and trying to bounce around but this is bad, ATT user aswell, i can dps i guess but healng and tanking are prob a no go till this is fixed please for the love of all that is holy can we have some companys talk and fix this issue

    I highly doubt SE would switch away from NTT, even tho they're holding a big part of their community hostage at this point. I've also been trying to stay in contact with ATT through this whole mess and they've told me over and over the problem is outside their network.

    We have absolutely no pull with NTT, we don't pay them. Getting in contact with our ISP like the lodestone suggested doesn't help bc NTT is the problem.

    I don't understand how SE isn't doing anything bc they pay NTT for a service they aren't providing.

    You know what they could do though? Even though you doubt it? Consider moving away from NTT. It sure seems like that would solve the problem for a lot of their customers effective immediately, without having to wait for the ISPs to troubleshoot for them.

    Sure, but I still doubt it will happen.

    SE opening up temporary servers in a different location is more realistic, and even that's unlikely.

    This has been going on for almost 2 weeks for many and up to almost 2 months for some. There is no clear sign of a fix coming from SE at all. Last night i caved in, got a 50$ TP link router, setup express vpn on it so me and my girlfriend could play on playstation. Hopefully they get it fixed in the next 30 days so i can get my money back. The other night I tried to play and its just not playable and as someone who pays their sub for 6 months at a time its bad on SE to treat their customers this way.

    The other thing I've noticed including Lag / Rubber Banding been getting d/c'd ALOT today. Even seen people d/c in Dungeons.
