    Look, the lack of communication from Square is annoying. But to say this all comes down to them when the two ISPs involved are WAY bigger GIANT corporations that much on customer corporations for lunch is giving Square a lot more control than I think they may have. They may be hitting the same "muh NDA" roadblock we are. They may be trapped in a contract with NTT. Or NTT may be the only ISP that can do what Square needs them to do to run FFXIV and peer with ATT.

    I'm not saying take the pressure off of them, but I am saying I blame the bigger, nastier, greedier Giant corporations more.

    You're absolutely right that the culprits in this story are ATT and NTT, however SE unfortunately does deserve some criticism here. Running everyone to *one* location with as big of a consumer base that they have is kind of wild. Even WoW has multiple. If they did have multiple I don't think we'd be running into as big of a congestion issue that we currently have.

    That being said, if NTT and ATT were fixing the problem nodes instead of pointing fingers at each other, we wouldn't be having these issues regardless.

    after trying to prog today in the new tier, i guess this one will take me awhile to do. so this is what it feels like to be that guy that's lagging everywhere and randomly disconnects. even with cloudfare warp, it doesnt sit right with me to trap the other party members in my connection inconsistency.

    This problem has been going on for an absurd amount of time now considering the amount of customers being impacted.

    I would say the real failure on Square's part is the lack of recent feedback and updates, which at this point should be occurring daily. I'm not suggesting Yoshi-P should be writing daily letters to the community about this, but someone from the community team should certainly be dropping by this thread each and every day and letting their customers know what (if any) assistance they have been providing on this matter. What steps did their team take with AT&T and NTT today to attempt to resolve this? What was the outcome of that effort, and what is their plan of action tomorrow? Every day we should be hearing from Square's support team about this, and it's just not happening. That failure, in my opinion, is 100% on them.

    I have to agree. We all tried to patient for over a week waiting for this to be resolved. At some point the blame starts to shift to SE, who's staying almost silent on the matter even tho all of us are paying subscribers.

    Yeah no kidding, even for people like me that don't dare call AT&T due to family situation (Um, thee do not disturb brother who works from home unless you want a chewout at best or a beatdown at worst). I just hope they resolve it soon.

    Said brother (Who once played but WoW yoinked him back) doesn't believe me and 'Neko either when he finally heard. He was all "WHAT?!" While I'm pingplottering before every time I logon to be sure I'm not going to rubberband and to decide if I'm going to cloudflare warp or not..

    It's probably too close to launch for this to matter, but a good number of loud, public boycotts of FF16 with this as the stated reason might help motivate SE to try to be a bit more proactive on this issue. Especially if they're loud enough to get picked up by gaming media.

    If you're effected by this, cancel that preorder. Don't buy it. Tell them you won't buy their products if they treat you like a second class citizen.
