    Not a shill here, but if anyone is curious, Exitlag works fairly well for me - midwestern US, as long as I'm not using the Los Angeles 02 route, I get between 30 and 35 ping. When on the LA02 route, I get 30ms except every minute I get between 2-3 pings worth of 1000ms. My guess is there is a node out there that *didn't* get an update or failed an update and occasionally traps traffic, forcing a reroute, which isn't being handled well either, but idfk.

    Yeah this where I was expressing in the ticket to them that NOT everyone has funds to pay a sub and A VPN to try and keep playing while they idle about on it.

    Here's an update from me! My SE support ticket got a response saying "Currently we can assure you we are aware of the situation and are currently working to get this fixed. We appreciate your feedback." And they linked this thread. I'm still not happy about it, but at least I have in writing that they are working on it and not simply aware of it like in the tweet we got last week.

    Fingers crossed that if we indeed get to day 8 of this, it is the last day. It's going to storm otherwise tomorrow.

    Like clockwork. 10:50am and it spikes way up. Next update in 2 1/2 hours when the packet loss starts.

    Welcome news, at least. Great work pressing them.

    Remember, server maintenance begins in about 11-ish hours (7PM Pacific/10PM Eastern), so any continued reports prior to that will help since we’re going to have an obvious lapse this evening.

    BF and I downloaded that MTR thing and WHEW let me tell you...
    on ATT there were like 30-70% dropped packets on almost every NTT node
    WE ACTUALLY GOT A DIFFERENT ISP (spectrum, YUCK!) and on my MTR try it was only 6-10% dropped packets which is STILL not great but the game was actually playable. AGAIN -- on SPECTRUM, NOT ATT FIBER. ATT FIBER still does not work with FFXIV. (caps are for emphasis on any SE people who see this, im not yelling at anyone in this thread!)

    ATT tech support on saturday would not help us unless we had a tech come out. We had an appt scheduled for sunday the guy only CALLED and said "well all i can do here is swap your box out" and We told him yes, we know, but the actual tech support isn't listening to us and refused to do anything else for us until we had our equipment looked at" so he decided not to come and then lied on the report saying we cancelled it ourselves -- again, he lied, we did not cancel that.
    So sunday we spoke with ATT tech support yet again and they said "oh ok i suddenly see something unrelated to your actual problem, so let's send another guy out on monday" so he came out today and literally shrugged and said "well if it works on spectrum stay on spectrum".

    So first of all not everyone can switch providers, even if they can afford it, second of all spectrum is HORRIBLE, it just HAPPENS to not get routed thru the bad node (i assume is what is happening -- i, nor anyone really here I'd imagine -- actually KNOWS what the issue is ofc, because they aren't saying anything about it) and THIRD of all -- i hate this.

    This is day 9 for me and this issue is still going on. I would be *shocked* if it was fixed by patch but honestly the torment it's caused us not to mention money we and others have put down for fixes is unacceptable. The lack of communication was expected (I've been on FFXI before FFXIV) but doesn't lessen mine and others' disgust. There are almost 50 pages now of post after post showing exactly where the problem is.

    Put in a couple of the bug report tickets that they tweeted out, but also opened a Customer Service ticket as well. They responded back with info about Microsoft Edge and running FFXIV as an administrator. I replied back, let them know that we all know about the AT&T and NTT debacle and linked them to this thread. This was the somewhat generic response I got back:

    "Thank you for contacting the SQUARE ENIX Support Center! We appreciate you taking the time to contact us for assistance.

    We apologize for any inconvenience you have been experiencing. We are aware of the current situation in regards to AT&T and NTT, we can assure that this is our top priority, we are working to get this fixed as soon as possible, we recommend you to keep an eye on the Lodestone and the Forums for any future update in regards to this matter. Once again we apologize about the inconvenience this has caused you.

    We hope this information proves helpful. If you have need for additional assistance in regards to in game concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us back and we will be more than happy to assist you. We hope you have an excellent day.
