Actually now that I think about it...

Imagine you are trying to que sync as 2 ninjas to guarantee you are both on the opposite side so that one of you can throw matches to boost the other. You both que at the exact same time in hopes to get in the same match. The que pops for one of you but didn't pop foe the other.

Just abandon que and try to sync again over and over until you get in the same match.

That was what people did, yes...

Also, the 30min penalty from failing to accept a Ranked queue popup should only apply to Ranked, you should be able to do any other duty in the game if that happens unless you did that multiple times in a row.

If you are unpracticed at deaggroing up to four striking dummies and swap job within this time frame I suggest you dont attack striking dummies with different jobs than you're queued with.

Then let me help you by explaining how wintrading works.

The way wintrading works is one player makes sure to either play VERY badly or just not play at all when they play against the person they want to boost. If you don't play the same job, you have roughly a 50% chance to be on opposite sides. If you play the same job, you will always end up on opposite sides.

So, you could have 2 people that play ninja. One that doesn't do anything, one that plays normally. You end up playing a 4v5 match, heavily favoring the team with 5 players trying.

Now, let's say I am playing ninja as well at the same time, so you have 3 ninjas in queue. One of the ninjas part of the wintrading queues up and boom, insta pop because I am in queue too and we were missing a player. Now if they refuse the queue, they have instant penalties so you know those 2 won't be wintrading for at least half an hour. I may be wrong but I think they implemented increasing penalties for refusing queues, making it harder for players to sync queues.

It's an effective way to prevent queue syncs with players using the same job. It's not perfect, but it works.

And if like 45 seconds is not enough time for you to right click your training dummy target and select : "Reset striking dummy enmity" so you don't miss queues, I don't know what to tell you.

That's why it's not perfect, that could happen if they don't get the instant pop.

However, the PVP people talk on discord. And contrary to popular belief, PVP players actually care about the integrity of matches and not winning/losing based solely on what player is on your side. Those people would get reported. Now, granted, SE is slow as **** to punish that kind of thing, but people like me would switch to their jobs and make it harder for them.

At least it's something to make it harder. In season 1, it was happening pretty frequently.

Not to railroad the conversation into the topic of wintrading but although this is very correct, this is also the very obvious way to wintrade (like that one player "Wemightwin Thistime" back in S1/2 who got banned) when players are attempting make a statement to the devs or to upset the playerbase intentionally and blatantly.

A more inclusive description of wintrading, however, is that it is typically done by players who are already very good at the game and can do subtle things during the game to throw the match without suspicion from the average player (allowing themselves to get CCed/making themselves an easy kill at certain critical points in the match). Which makes it very hard to police ALL wintrading, and which is why it will never end in any game.

uhhh i dunno what rock you live under but would that not make it easier to wintrade in a fashion? queing up at the same time but with same jobs as the others = a higher likelyhood of ending up on the other team

    Lets say group one:

    whitemage

    ninja

    then group two

    white mage

    ninja

by doing it like this you basically game the system in your favor easier.... it does not help you, it makes it worse.

    *sigh*

Alright, let me explain slower so that even you can understand.

Let's say 2 ninjas are win trading. We're already assuming they are playing the same job so they can be on opposite sides each time.

If they queue at the same time, a few things can happen. They can both have an instant pop, only one of them can have an instant pop or they both wait in queue and then either one of them or both of them get a pop.

If they both have an instant pop or if they are in queue and have a match notification at the same time, they'll probably be in the same game. However, that becomes a lot less likely if other people are playing their jobs.

They can't know that there is already a ninja in queue, so what is more likely is that only one of them will get the match pop when it happens, me or someone else getting the other. If only one of them has a game, they are forced to play the match, since they can't cancel because they'll get a penalty.

It does make it harder to sync up queues to cheat if you are forced to play your games when your notifications happen. Even if they decide not to play the same job, it is still harder.

Worth it if the people getting "screwed" are those who decide to take a bio break at the worst time or don't know how to right click a training dummy target within 45 seconds.

Do you understand now ? Can I go back under my rock ?

Not really, we're too overwhelmed by the oozing condescension and lack of self esteem to focus on anything else.
