His statement of, feel free to play other games, has been consistent. You are now attributing that to a lack of content. However, if that logic is to hold, it would mean FFXIV has always had a lack of content. Conversely, if the opposite was true, when he said it back in the day when there was 'loads of content', then it shows there is no correlation between his statement and the view of the amount of content in the game. Therefore, trying to use the statement as something that he is saying to cover up the 'lack of content', does not logically follow. Your premise is flawed and so your conclusion is flawed.
The statement has always been about one thing and one thing only. Do not make FFXIV the only game you play. Do not feel shackled into FFXIV when there are plenty of other games for you to enjoy, do not miss out on the other great titles out there just because of FFXIV. In other words, he just doesn't want you to use FFXIV as an excuse for not playing other games. It has nothing to do with the state of FFXIV and it never will. Anything else is just projection and is you adding some sort of hidden meaning behind it when there is no meaning to be had.
No, you're still missing my entire point. I keep saying with Endwalker, there has been "less" to do. If you're happy with the current state the game is, that is perfectly fine, but I am not those kind of people, I want to keep myself busy. If I want to play other games, I will. If I were a raider, I would raid and still play other games because it's my choice alone, and so is yours and the next person's as well. As I said before, less grind =/= lack of content. If SE wants less grind, then they should double to content with something to do. Manderville relics are a prime example on how divided the community is. That being said, no one is shackled to FFXIV, and it's my choice alone to make this game my only game to play. I still have plenty to do, but it's nothing that's "current" so to speak. His statement of, feel free to play other games, has been consistent. You are now attributing that to a lack of content. How would they have more to do without grindy/repetitive content? Even the prior relics were repetition-based for the most part. No, you're still missing my entire point. For the sake of understanding, what were you spending your time on in the past that is missing now? A lot of the base content is still the same as we have always gotten, just now we have Islands/Criterion Dungeons instead of the Relic grind zones.
I don't think I understand your question. Island Sanctuary is automated, Deep Dungeon is like any other, Criterion can be cleared few times and then you don't touch it again. What's else there? You have the raids for raiders, but not everyone does raiding. I've cleared Manderville relics in about 2 weeks, and that's going slow, with daily roulettes alone. How would they have more to do without grindy/repetitive content? If you're happy with that, I mean, that's fine, everyone has different tastes and all of that.

Well....I've been doing relics and only have 4 of them finished. So I think what we consider "slow" or not spending much time on will vary between players.I don't think I understand your question. I think outside of a relic grind, was there other content you spent time on in the past that you don't have a new EW version of now?
I think Criterion not being good long-term content is a great critique, and if these are supposed to be a replacement for something missing I agree they probably missed the mark.
Your claim was, Yoshi P is using the excuse to play other games because of a lack of content. I merely stated that this is not the case and that he has always said this, the amount of perceived content is irrelevant.
If you have always had the mindset of not making FFXIV the only game you play, then good for you, the statement does not apply to you, however, it also does not mean you can twist the words to suit your narrative on the current state of the game, which is exactly what you have done. The statement has never been an excuse, so don't try and make it one.
No developer or producer should ever encourage its own playerbase to play other games, because it's seen exactly as is: an excuse to slow down the progress, the content and stall everything else. You can white knight Yoshi-P and SE all you want, but I have 20 years of experience playing MMORPGs, and while he may be doing this in good faith, it's actually going to backfire really fast. They're already nerfing the next tier savage, which sure, it's good for raiders, but it's obviously done so people can play the new FFXVI instead.Your claim was, Yoshi P is using the excuse to play other games because of a lack of content. You can bicker with me all you want, I stand by my statement, whether you like it or not.
You mean the one thing everybody disliked, requiring a ton of books just to finally get your own gear (if your RNG is bad) so you can make the DPS checks and surviving easier? Dropping from 4 to 3 and 8 to 6 is a good thing for everybody involved. No developer or producer should ever encourage its own playerbase to play other games, because it's seen exactly as is: an excuse to slow down the progress, the content and stall everything else.
