This has been requested for years, not to play the game less, but to make it easier for people to play and experience the game and its content on more jobs.

Unless you were involved in raiding, however, you would not understand why or how this has been a problem since the game's inception.
I too lurked before I started posting here, and from what I've seen of Stormpeaks the only thing they actually do actively in FFXIV is housing. This I find on its own to be kinda funny, but it becomes even more so when you realize that it means they're absolutely shackled to FFXIV despite all the negative attitude they have towards it because otherwise they'd lose their house(s). It really is the sunk cost fallacy in action.
