Being disillusioned as to thinking a Liveletter for a patch is going to have any changes to a format and structure for the 6.X series that was already decided and DETAILED over a year ago is foolish. I really fail to understand why people who seemingly have been playing for so long, have somehow failed to realize that things are planned out over a year in advance. By the time X.3 is out, they are knees deep in the next expansion; this time they started immediately after Endwalker. Our comments, complaints and concerns will not effect the following patches, as to address problems in the moment would set them behind schedule. This has always been the case.
They do listen, all the QoL in this patch series is indicative of that as many of the things we've gotten have been long-standing requests for years. The problem is that they are required to plan three to five patches ahead at all times to ensure they keep the content development cycle going and meet deadlines. So to say feedback is ignored is foolish as its taken into account for the far off future, rather than the present and this has always been the case. Its baffling to me that someone can play this game for so long and not pick up on how things are done?
Genuinely. People should have seen the Future of FFXIV PLL in Feb 2022 and realized that Endwalker was going to be a downplayed, transitionary patch cycle (which they more or less said anyway) due to the fact they are, once again, going to release a massive expansion with major changes across the board.
Does it suck? Yes! But to be surprised is utterly ridiculous, foolish even. We know better by now.
As to the OP: They cannot change things in the "near future" as the "near future" for them in-dev is 7.0 and 7.X. By the time we get a patch, they are done with it. They do not care at that point. You can hope for things to change somewhere down the line, but expecting such now is silly.
