I don't think it's stupid for people in charge to acknowledge its customer base. If you read the statement you quoted correctly this doesn't mean they need to change actions now, it means it's something they will keep in mind. It's a live letter. You make it sounds like they recorded Yoshi P ages ago and just released the video.
