not stupid it was just weirdly rude and dismissive when it was like, one of the first actually kinda positive threads on this forum in ages instead of artificially positive like the ones made by people who take bullets for corporations.
It didn't seem to me like they were being dismissive, just asking the question: how does this enhance gameplay more than the features we already have. It's a legitimate question, and one the devs themselves would ask in deciding whether or not to pursue. Genuinely, what does it enhance to be able to see the glam of someone you're not even around? How do you even find the person to get that link if they're not physically nearby? Is this something limited to adventure plates like the instant portrait? Because generally the plates/portraits only come up in duties when you're right next to the person and already have a way to examine their glam.
"How does this enhance the game experience" is a legit question. Personally, I'm not immediately shooting down the idea, but I don't quite understand the point of it either and would be interested to get more details.

The OP said linking in a chat box. This could be party, FC, linkshells, CWLS, etc.It didn't seem to me like they were being dismissive, just asking the question: how does this enhance gameplay more than the features we already have.
