I'm assuming Ifrit (Extreme) doesn't drop anything and is only a quest advancement.

I thought I read somewhere on these forums (of course I can't find it now) that he drops your relic weapon you're on the quest for? Please feel free to hate me and flame me. I could be wrong lol

dont think so, Icehunter posted this in a few threads down "the fire hotter than the seventh heaven; and to keep it going a wind fiercer than blah blah" points to killing Ifrit for the fire and maybe even Garuda for the wind

LOL with worse drop rates! On the quest for Artemis Bow, but keep getting Stardust Rods. Cannot pass weapons.

I hear that instead of inferno nails he summons giant bottles of mountain dew code red and he throws up the metal horns and yells when he does a tp move.

He has more HP, Dmg, and Def. He drops only a key item for the relic quest. And you can't fight him until you are at that portion of the quest string.
That sounds about right for what they implementing pre-2.0.
Don't get your hopes up. Maybe, just maybe, we will be pleasantly surprised...
except he can't have any more HP
though he could have higher effective HP if they increase his regen, or give him some sort of healing mechanic

Has anything really been confirmed at this point? If not...
It'd be interesting if he opened up the battle with Hellfire, or rather, nail-summoning, and proceeded from there. Also perhaps being stronger overall
