I don't think they read forums, but if they did wouldn't your post be pretty self incriminating? It's an admission of breaking the rules, and essentially saying you're hoping to be unbanned so you can keep doing what you were doing but not get caught the next time?

Tangentially related but, what if they made crafting not so repetitive and thoughtless that a mouse macro could do it with 100% effectiveness as an actual person. Like is clicking an in game macro button exactly once every 30 seconds and waiting the engaging gameplay that they want to incentivize? I feel like SE puts too much effort in the wrong places - fixing symptoms (people using mouse macros) rather than the actual underlying issue (HQ crafting is horrendously mindless once you have the rotation).

nope they cannot , remember you're paying for a service, so YOU as a customer expect A service in exchange, they cannot come take your money and ban for no reason, speaking as a former lawyer that'll be (to a certain extent) a class action lawsuit, everything complicates when theres money in the middle , different story would be if the game was F2p

well yeah a ToS is not legally binding
they can simply first suspend your account without giving you a reason
and then after 30-240 business days of legal procedures they will then tell you what was the reason you got suspended

Like others have said, just write an appeal to support using an alt character in game. You can use the Free Trial if needed.

Be nice, be polite. Even the ones who broadcasted using third party tools during world firsts got to keep their accounts, so if some potion crafting is truly all you were doing, they likely thought you were just another gil farm bot and/or a compromised account.

It is straight forward. You botted to craft items. By crafting those items, you throw the economy out of balance. You can produce 100s of pots with minimal effort on your part which in turns allows you to not buy pots on the marketboard, lowering the demand by your artificial production of pots.

That's all there is to it.

I will say, I'm surprised it is an "account terminated" ban if this is your first offense.

Get a new account and don't craft in public spaces unless you're gonna do it all by hand. Easiest solution.
