XI -
Gain weapon from appropriate Dynamis zone - Very common drop
Gain currency - You can even do this solo and buy every currency if you have the gil for it
Gain craft items requested - This above all is the easiest step unless you go after Gungnir, which has a weapon you need to craft yourself or get someone to craft.
Wait a few real life days between steps.
Gain Attestations and Shards - Very very easy.
Take weapon to requested zone and get your weapon (or shield) and a refund on one of the steps which you can hand off to someone else or sell.

Tell me how that's "bad" compared to XIVs that people are complaining about left and right?

You're comparing getting the relic in NEW Dynamis, not how it was in OLD Dynamis. Really, FFXIV relics are more comparable to getting a Mythic weapon in XI.

Allow me to show you what it took to get a Mythic weapon in XI.

- Complete the main ToAU story line (Not that hard really)
- Get Captain rank (by completing all 50 assaults - Minimum 50 days).
- Climb Nyzul Isle to get special weapon (although, it is possible to get weapon before getting to top)
> Start quest
- Kill 3 Beastmen bosses
- Complete all four areas of Salvage
- Get Key (From climbing Nyzul Isle)
- Kill Odin (In Einjerhar)
- Get 150,000 Nyzul isle points
- get 30,000 Alexandrite (drops only in Salvage in 1-100 increments. You'd be lucky to get more than 100 per run)
- get 10,000 ichor in Einjerhar (Months and months of Einjerhar running)
- Do all 50 assaults AGAIN (this time, trading an item to the exit point, 50 days MINIMUM)
- Get 3 final ZNM items from bosses (also used to pop Pandemonium Warden, toughest boss in XI. And did I mention they only had a 1 in 3 chance of dropping?)
- Fight a ghost using special weaponskill (Okay, this one's a bit easier).

Relics in XIV are lightweights to get compared to mythics in XI. So, stop whining about how "hard" or "difficult" they are to get, cause they ain't.
