How-to Obtain Relic ^^;

Just throwing it out there but obtaining a relic when the cap was 75 was a lot harder then it is to obtain the XIV relics. This is non-negotiable.

Heck at launch it took more time to level one class to 75 then it could potentially take to get a relic here. I mean, many are on the last few steps already here.

The big problem is the game is all casualized up so that everyone can do the content up to this point. If you don't want to put the time into this/ can't then you can't get the best weapon in the game, its that simple. Tough luck for the people that can't do it, you have the new grand company gear and the other primal items though and they are still pretty good.

Don't leave out the fact that you could work alone on your Mythic wep, for the Relic 30+ people worked together for one weapon

I don't understand why people are still complaining about the difficulty of the relic weapons. Yes, getting relic weapons in XI was harder, but this isn't XI.

Also, these weapons are GREAT, but you're not going to be a TERRIBLE player without them. I guarantee that all content is tested with 'typical' gear; it is not tested with every player having the best gear available. (That is why new content is seemingly a cakewalk for well-geared people once they figure out a strategy that works. Also, this isn't new news, but... gear doesn't have as much of an effect on performance as some would like. See: naked Ifrit runs, etc.) They do not test new content with people having relic weapons (although they might take screenshots to 'make it look cool'). We all know that this game is meant to be playable for casual players, and it would be SUICIDE to make the relic weapons a 'required' thing.

SO... you don't NEED to get them to enjoy the game. If you don't want to deal with the time sink or chance aspect of it, just don't do it, or be patient (and wait for it to come naturally). It's not like you NEED to do this to go forward in a main story line or participate in mainstream content. As others have said, it's simply here to give us something to do while we wait for 2.0. I would love to get my relic weapon, and I am committed to doing it, but I know it's going to be a while. Heck, I don't even have all my seals from Hamlet yet.

The one main 'issue' I am willing to recognize is the fact that when new jobs come out, I may be in the midst of completing one class's relic before I can start on a class that I would really prefer to get a relic for. HOWEVER... by the time new classes are released, implemented, given AF and relics... I'm sure any dedicated player will be done with their first relic weapon.

Anyone find out if you have to get 9 seals + 25k book for every relic weapon yet? or just the one time to as a pre-req?

Pretty sure it's every time, as when you talk to Rowena, all the things she lists are there, including but not limited to the beastmen book :/

it is every time, but seriously thats the least of your worries with all thats required

and you say this after seeing ALL the other steps? really? lol

the whole quest is extremely time consuming, but this is the only part you can truely work on ahead of time while finishing up other steps it seems like
