    Gear w/ Stats, akin to Crafting Gear, + SFX / Relic Like Opportunity

    Just wanted to suggest bringing back gear with stats as rewards in PvP (does not effect PvP uniquely, EDIT: meaning stats specifically for PvE), and perhaps make them akin to crafting gear- so perhaps to upgrade them takes tomes.

    For example a new set is released and has decent stats, like crafting, then a new wave of ilvls are released, crafting gear gets it's tome upgrade. PvP could have tomes to upgrade (or alliance raid tokens). Then rather than having to make a new set, the next step could be attaching SFX to the gear when you upgrade it. Cost effective, and gives a lot of potential /new/ items to PvP. Like imagine the really cool BLM staff with the animated eye, but now it has an SFX- that's relic quality!

    Keep whatever takes the combination as a non-new item, like literally use rain + pvp item (the thing that you use to upgrade crafted gear). Just also use some PvE stuff to ensure players did have to do that too lol (like rain, or alliance raid tokens). Bear in mind we two PvP tokens to choose from, so that can be a component to making these.

    To make sure I understand this right, you're advocating for making pvp a source of pve gear with decent stats? I'm all for more sources of pve gear especially for casuals in pve, so I'd definitely support this. Becomes tricky to find exactly how it should compare in power to other sets (crafted? unaugmented tomestones? augmented tomestones? savage? when does it unlock on the patch timeline if so? etc).

    Unless you're advocating to bring back stats into pvp itself, which is a whole different can of worms...

    The first for sure, not the latter lol. I was one of the people advocating for removing stats from PvP back when it was a thing XD.

    In terms of stats I'd just say roughly parallel- which would also need to consider time / cost, don't want it to displace things because it's too easy. Definitely good gear if it uses the new token system.

    My thought would be it comes in steps so you can follow along with the progression of other gears, hence also including the rain concept crafted gear uses (and may as well follow that power level / release schedule). Beyond steps, if they wanted they could also introduce it's own unique materia system. Two slots might be purchased by pvp tokens and helps determine secondary stat distribution, then power level might be some sort of crafted reagent and maybe some crushed materia lol. Maybe a third slot to determine SFX, /shrug. Lots of ideas on how to balance it out, the general thought being that the gear progresses and maybe easy to get an okay set but via progression would be acceptable PvE gear in 'current' content.

    I'm personally not bound to a style of progression nor a starting point, I just think it should be 'valid gear'.

    tbh if it even becomes a consideration into BiS pve sets, I'd 200% support this just to hear the screeching from the balance players & liveletter translation.

    As long as the gear is entry level PVE like normal mode and crafted and can maybe be upgraded later like crafted, I see no issues.

    To anyone complaining that PVP "shouldnt be required to raid in PVE" assuming anyone is dense enough to say it, its not a requirement, it would just be a third method to obtain entry level gear. Crafted will still outperform due to pentamelding anyways.

    So I say, YES, actually reward people for playing PVP, let them do what they like and still progress in the game.

    I play every job in PvP, and only a few jobs in PvE because gearing them all even on a normal raid level is such a pain to me. I'd be all for an alternate way to do that, even if the ilvl is something like 5ilvl lower than normal raid.

    Would be cool to have, but I would like to keep the glam only gear aswell alongside, I like having more options for glamming a low lvl alt using the pvp rewards that are lvl1.

    As long as gear has no impact on pvp I'm perfectly fine with an alternative path to gearing. Its the same reason I think the criterion dungeons should have alternative gear.
