For good or bad, MMOs will never be able to please everyone all the time. They are unique in that they are constantly changing and attract a wide range of gamers who simply have diverse tastes, and in that regard I think its unfair to gate one over the other. Of course it matters what type of game you are playing. I would raise an eyebrow at a pure combat MMO getting rid of said battles and adding just minion raising, but thats not what is happening here. I do not think the game is ‘pandering’ to those the OP is saying it does, because non-combat content has always been apart of the games DNA. We have whole quest lines and dailies being hidden behind Crafting/Gathering, to Mahjong and other minigames. Sanctuary Island is simply another aspect of that, and I for one have enjoyed. It would be a bit of a different story if the MSQ had no trials/dungeons and ended a fashion show final, but we are still getting raids, dungeons and even newer forms of that in variant dungeons and PVP. It is very debatable if they work and how they can be improved, but they are there.

Thats not to say we should not speak up about our wants and criticisms, of course we should and it would be boring if we just all agreed with everything SE did. But sometimes us not getting the tailored content we want is not the same as the game dying, messing up or being put into maintenance mode. None of us are Legion, we can only speak for ourselves.
