Criticism is one thing, but your entire time on these forums have been nothing but pure complaining down to the most idiotic things like hamburgers daring to exist in the game.
He has, repeatedly, certain posters simply deflect from it with bad faith discussion points. Accusing him or others of liking the 'wrong' things or conveniently ignoring that they, themselves, often call for the removal of features being praised and enjoyed by those they're arguing with.

I grant that aveyond-dreams is disillusioned.

I, on the other hand, am not disillusioned. I am enjoying many of the same things in this game that I enjoyed when I started playing back in 2014.

It is a mistake to believe that changes such as Island Sanctuary and other such content is pandering. Non-combat content is necessary for MMORPGs to succeed.

I anticipate that our OP here will have to wait until the Fan Fests, with the first in July and the last next January, before they make their choice to continue playing or not.

I'll give their disillusionment little heed until after those Fan Fests are finished laying out what we will see next. I personally don't expect to be disappointed.

    So about this ultimatum:
Let's say the developers are burned out, they are both no able and not willing to make content even as fast as before, hence the 4 month content schedule.
What are you options, like real options? There are not many.

FFXIV was my main game for years prior to Endwalker, but now it seems intent on betraying those of us who invested so much time in it with how lacklustre both gameplay and battle content has become this expansion.
I don't know you apart from these threads on the forums, but I feel like you have a lot of animosity based on the words you chose. Betrayal is pretty damning after all.
Could they be more transparent as YoshiP said before ? Yes. Could they be more communicative ? Yes. Should they be ? Hell yes.
It's ok to want to criticise and be upset/frustrated, but at this point maybe it does not seem like a healthy mindset you currently have ?

I enjoy both savage and gposing gameplay. Let's not bash either.

To be frank 2 years is not a lot of time for a game this big.

I once had to work on a feature from backend to frontend. It was as simple feature. Think along the lines of creating a form which takes in and saves data.
From dev to prod (development to testing to implementation to the customer) it took 4 months until it went live. Granted not every project is the same, but there are timelines. We don't know what's happening at SE and what their 2-4-6 year timeline looks like and where they can fit feedback in.

I'm with you. This Game lost a lot of it's former glory. The Content is getting recycled over and over again and on top it's getting nerfed so that everyone with only 1 hour playtime per week is able to keep up. I played other games as well but i want to enjoy FFXIV again. But it's still not fun for me. So i extend my break until 7.0 and give this game a last chance before quitting. And as always people are defending the current state of the game, because they don't know how good it was back then or are spending so much time in the Forums, that they aren't playing FFXIV anyway to have a real idea of what's going on ingame.

Guess I will elaborate on what OP is trying to say right now because it applies rather heavily to a lot of different design directions taken by the team over there...

So back before savage kind of grew and more people started doing the content, the game was a lot more about getting to know and do interesting things with a class / job. Snaring mobs, using the right debuffs and buffs to survive specific situations, managing emnity using skills like smokescreen, and flipping between modes with jobs like healer stance. The game has now moved more to just being a rhythm game with no variation. This really limits the developers outside instances like bazja and eureka on what they can do to make fights interesting, so they just tighten numbers now and make basically the same thing over and over again each patch. No matter how dedicated a fan is to the game, we can at least all agree that people are going to get bored doing the same thing over and over, right?

And what is probably the most interesting thing is that even though making the jobs easier to learn is a thing with this new rhythm based system, people are still getting shoehorned into specific classes. Primarily, this is because the game still pushes competency through having harder content like savage, which shapes the community around it. They can hide the ugliness "officially" by not endorsing or creating damage meters and other tools, but people create them anyway so it is unavoidable.

The other issue is the game is just about being a second job at this point. Someone could literally come back in two years for the next expansion and miss nothing of importance. Oh, they missed out on savage tiers and special hidden bosses? Well I guess they can just go unsync in the next expansion and literally blow through it with a week of time without even a sliver of the competency the hardcore raiding community touts as a requirement. Missed the Criterion dungeon when it was current? Well congratulations the entire thing is solo-able anyway and has absolutely nothing of value except maybe a mount for collectors.

Is anyone really missing anything important in FFXIV if they didn't do island sanctuary? Is it really worth it to have to spend hours upon hours doing crafting when all someone does is ultimately press a preset number of buttons with an RNG generator? There's just way too much grinding for some meager reward and while our energy wanes going forward, the energy needed to get the rewards drops considerably and underplays the effort the player put in to begin with. And FYI this final statement applies to just about most MMOs right now.

To be fair, he can be incredibly dismissive of certain things that others enjoy. In the OP of just this thread, he is putting down people who enjoy slice of life moments in their story, people who enjoy farm-sim style content, and those who have fun with the dress-up side of their character - screenshots/posing character, etc. Despite how he may feel about it being included, a lot of people really enjoy that side of the game and it adds value to the game for some.

I very much hate the "go play other games, this game isn't for you" retort, and I promise you that isn't this, but at some point we all really need to sit down with ourselves and figure out how much we actually do enjoy this game and to decide if it's worth our time and energy. For better or worse, I don't see SE making any drastic changes to how the game is handled and what type of content comes out. It took me years to come to terms with the fact that XIV is what it is. I have a lot of posts on here about things I wish the game would implement, or things I dislike, and while I do think the feedback is important, I probably spent too much of my own time being in denial about the game. XIV is just never going to be that game for me, and that's fine. I do still play now and then, but I feel like at this point a lot of that is just out of familiarity and habit.

Anyway, just to cover my butt as I know how these forums go, none of the above is to say you shouldn't voice your concerns. Absolutely do. I don't know how much of it actually gets carried back to people who matter, but it's still important to get the feedback out there. Just be honest with yourself and your expectations.

Its sad you or anyone has to do that.
You say anything Vaguely against the Criticism, even if you mostly agree with it, and people come at you thinking you are trying to silence them, as if their Criticism Disappears just because you had a Nuanced Take on it.

Almost as sad as constantly having to phrase blatantly obvious opinions with "in my opinion" to avoid having someone swoop in and pretend you are treating your own thoughts as objective fact.
