I want to play *This* game

... or whose vanity is so great that they spend hours designing portraits or gposes that players like me who actually want to play a video game will never click on them to see.

We've spent the last 2 years offering feedback as to how to improve things, and it's well past time it's actually acted upon. FFXIV can be better than this. I want 10 more years of FFXIV the game not FFXIV the chat lobby.

I'm sorry, Aveyond, but I can't really agree with this. I like spending hours designing portraits and doing gposes. Just because somebody enjoys this aspect of the game, doesn't mean they cannot also enjoy other aspects of the game, such as gameplay. I like the act of going out and collecting the glamour to use in my portraits or gposes. I think both gpose and the portrait system are great ideas in general.

Portraits do need some QoL and other work, and gpose could use a bit more to it, but, again, they are overall great features, that I do not think take away from the game whatsoever - they only add to it.

As the topic title states, I quite literally want to play this game. As in FFXIV. I would very much like to have good content that releases in a timely manner like we did back in Stormblood.

I do not care for excuses or for bad faith posters to tell me to go play other games as they try to draw attention away from the fact that clearly not all is well with this one. FFXIV was my main game for years prior to Endwalker, but now it seems intent on betraying those of us who invested so much time in it with how lacklustre both gameplay and battle content has become this expansion.

It was a mistake pandering to the people who unironically enjoy gameplay as riveting as clicking on nodes in Island Sanctuary or whose vanity is so great that they spend hours designing portraits or gposes that players like me who actually want to play a video game will never click on them to see.

I agree I wanna fight and kill stuff but as long as player will be satisfied about being AFK all day watching their character and pay their sub for that why do change anything right? its like in every game as long as player pay that mean that they must be satisfied or addicted

Yea but then the whole rightous forum crusade and the us vs them narrative falls apart, doesnt it. What are we going to do if we cant bash the RP venue crowd and hold them accountable for what design decisions they made to the game?

Also quit lying about the longevity of previous's expansion's content. Upon release for Eureka and Bozja, people were able to quickly get their characters leveled into those zones and finish their relic steps within that patch in a few weeks. Barely enough time to last the months for the next patch.

Funny, Eureka still poppin on multiple datacenters.
Even Bozja still sees some activity quite often.

There is nothing stopping Aveyond from playing this game if that is what they actually want to do.

Aveyond doesn't want to play this game. Aveyond wants to play what they remember the game as being in the past. That game is not this game. Games, especially long running MMORPGs, do change over time. So do their players.

Leaving feedback about the specific changes the game has undergone that make it subjectively less enjoyable can be helpful.

Rewriting what the game should be and expecting everyone else to agree is not.

Ridiculing both developers and players who have different interests is a good way to make certain your feedback is dismissed with prejudice. Aveyond has tended to be their own worst enemy with the way they write their posts and this one certainly is not helping them.

I was actually thinking the same thing. Where it feels as though a lot of these people complaining have their memories skewed by nostalgia. They long for those good times again. Not to have new good times, but to be able to relive their old ones.

Which I get it, nostalgia is one hell of a drug.

I can't speak for Eureka, but I did play Bozja from day 1. What I remember is in the first little while, people were gatekeeping CLL, saying new people shouldn't join because they wanted to guarentee a clear to get their coins. I remember spending 5 hours a day for 4 days straight ust trying to get my CLL clear. And I mean after I ranked to 10 already. I would spend all that time in Bozja trying desperately to get CLL cleared so that I could move forward with my relic. Every time I managed to get in CLL, we would wipe/run out of time. It was extremely tiresome and draining to do. And even then, within 2 months of Bozja coming out, I never had a full group when I did CLL for relics.

Despite all the relic steps involving Delubrum, my queues were usually over 30mins. And after three weeks of Zadnor being out, my Dalriada runs usually had 8-11 people.

Even now, Eureka (at least the first two zones) are still fairing well, but Bozja is dead. Bozja was dead during the life of the relic. I wouldn't call that longevity.

As for other content, there were lulls in ShB too. Points where there was no one around and queues would take forever. It's not EW exclusive.

Also to quickly comment on the feedback thing; there exists more facets of feedback than just the West. Most people don't even take the time to give feedback. They aren't just going to look at a 1000 post thread where it's just the same handful of people complaining and insulting the devs and other players. You seem to forget you don't speak for everyone. You speak for a fraction of players. They have more devices to see user engagement and opinions than just the same person on general discussion claiming that the game is garbage and that anyone who likes it is an SE white knight on copium.

I can never truly understand people attaching themselves to one game. You'd be a lot happier with playing other games and that is a cold objective fact.

I only play FFXIV as it has the type of gameplay and styles I have always wanted in a game. Right now I’m waiting for some gathering nodes to pop and while waiting, I’m playing Pokémon Scarlet on my Switch.

You will not play this game, you will play all of the other games in your library, pay to keep your house (because our lord and savior yoshi p wants us to take breaks but you have to keep your subscription up else you lose your house), and you will like it, if you dont, you can just "take a break" for a few years, so that when you come back you have about 2 weeks of content to do, then you can quit for a few years again, our lord and savior yoshi P is doing it to keep your health in check, he really cares about us dont you get it ? it's all for us in the end that he's not releasing content, it's just so we are in good health
