Hi, seeing how relics are going to follow the same way of probably 1500 tomes, i wanted to talk how this approach could've been, to the least, more interesting
To begin with, the price would remain midly the same, but again converted to bicolors
Manderville meteorite: 500 tomes> 250 bicolor gems
This would mean to get a full relic it would mean to get a total of 750 bicolor gems, quite the grind it's true but let's enter into that territory shall we?
Fates
The first thought to this system is obvious, fates are a pain in the ass, boring and tedious, but with the system apart from the relic come other benefits people woudn't take in count and i'm going to do this by points
1-What stops people from just spamming one single area?
Shadowbringers along fates introduced a wonderful system, the shared fates, something that will give you rewards dependant on the area you're doing them, this would encourage the community/players to vary the areas they do, offering some variety to those and completing their shared fates logs
As an extra, Endwalker is not the only one who gives you bicolor gems, so we could as well see Shadowbringers areas revived thanks to this.
2-Fates are tedious
Fates when it's a 4-6 people group of course, but relics being on bicolors could've bring fate trains that would've help this process be less tedious and if not more handeable at the least.
3-What if i don't want the relic?
Bicolor gems luckily offer way more things, materials for potions, food, between others, and when maxed an area exclusive items for those housing enthusiast that were too lazy to farm those, now they got an easy way to get them
Want to go beyond?
Once you clear all areas you get access to Bicolor vouchers, something that sells quite while and on the long run gives access to a mount not a long have, if the relics aren't the first of your interest, maybe the possibility of filling your pockets between materials, craftings, and the Bicolor mount will do, again, increasing the ammount of players on the process.
4-Okay sure, cool for this expansion, but what about the long run
Seeing how this system has changed little since SHB to now EW players in the future could repeat the same process with the areas following the future content, bringing the benefits mentioned up here in the post.
That should be everything, of course feedback is appreciated and while of course this wouldn't reach the level of community exploration zones had, it would try it best, or i would like to believe
