People can get those dyes from Retainer ventures or just straight up buying them off the marketboard.

That means the only limiting factor to getting those dyes is 'how often do you play, and can you earn gil'.

It boils down to two things:
    A) Are you willing to spend 20 minutes a week to make ~2m/week for free (Island sanctuary is 1.2m/week for 5 minutes work every wednesday)
    B) Do you have enough of an understanding on how to make Gil from the marketboard.

But, I feel there is room for improvement. I'd like to suggest three things.

Since the end result of a dye often depends on the base color of the gear, give us the ability to stack dyes. This will give us more vivid colors, particularly with purples and pinks. It will also allow players to tinker with dyes to get just the right color they desire.

Give us the ability and gear to apply dye in different places. The altered gear was a great start. Let us color the other part of the gear.

Give us dye which apply patterns to our gear. Rather than a single color, this would allow player to significantly customize the appearance of our gear. Spots, stripes, checkerboard, there are all kinds of patterns which would appeal to a player.

Furthermore, all these dyes could inspire the creative team of Square Enix and allow their artists to show off their artistic talents with new ideas about color, fashion, and design.
I would love this. Sadly, its never gonna happen, as Square is using old gear recolors for future rewards. If we could make our custom colors, we would not be happy with simple recolored rewards, making them actually designing new sets.

We need to be able to use any color dye on ANY material and have the result being the EXACT color of that dye.
This is a fantasy game with mythical creatures and make believe stories and impossible races........why not dip the "realism" of dying fabric then and allow us to get the colors we actually use.
Stop picking and choosing when to follow "reality rules".

-Also time for a "latex look" dye, a true polished metal appearance on ANY material. the dye system here is bland and boring...spice it up for God sakes
-Adding a clear coat, a high gloss coating as an optional "dye" would be great to use. Design it to coat over current color of gear to gloss it , that way we could achieve effect on any existing color.

I think the biggest gap we have is magenta, which gets used as a theme colour on some caster gear sets (eg. Shisui and Sky Pirate) and others like the Gambler and Yafaemi sets, but can't be matched at all, unless you want to go for the metallic dye.
    Thanks for your suggestion,

I've done it before, but it's not bright enough in general, and also on outfits that I like glam.

I would like it to be more intense in play, on outfits that are too dark or pale, and the colour that most resembles a blue skin tone for intensity, I want dark purple.

It's true that Abyssal blue is the closest, but I want the intensity of a Dragon blue and that doesn't exist.

    The 3rd & 5th palette:

A more intense version is Metallic Purple Dye, but it is more Purple than Dark Purple Blue.

When I talk about the Relic Endwalker, I think of this, the lines on the scarf and the saroual.
