25k seals...

So yeah, i decided to skip the relics because of the huge headache is it to acquire them....mostly because of the 25,000 worth of grand company seals you need to buy the rare/ex item. And im perfectly ok with skipping them until after 2.0 is released.

BUT after reading through the patch notes, im going to need another 25,000 grand company seals to get a higher rank? Really SE??

Atm, i've been using all my seals for the doh/dol exp buff items (which i love very much btw^^) but requiring me to get another 25k seals is just outrageous to me.

I know there are numerous ways to get seals between doing supplies/provisioning at gc, gc leves, caravans and trading in ifrit weapons.....but it takes a while to get to 25k.....even just for the relic/rank....then i have to do it over again. Now i know that i can trade in my ifrit weapons....but if they arent going to be in 2.0 why would i just trade them in? It'd be dumb to consider, especially since it takes forever to get just 1 drop.

I think if se is going to continue this route of ridiculous, spamming same content over and over and over (which is essentially what you need to do to get seals) im going to throw in the towel. I have been one of those faithful players that have played since beta and have truly loved the game, but i dont want to be forced to mass spam everything over and over.....its getting very old, very fast. And just when i think spamming of certain dungeons/instances are done, they add something else that requires you to spam it even more.

MMOs need content that takes a while. Repeating content is just the name of the game. How many times did groups have to run Dynamis or Sky or Sea in XI to get the drops they needed?

As you said, there's plenty of ways to get seals. Spread it out. Gather, solo leves, group up for caravan. It's the least "repeat-dependant" goal in the game currently.

I'd rather us have something like this that allows tangible progress rather than RNG-dependant drops.

I think all quests should require you to choose one of three doors. One will have nothing, one will have the prize, and the last will have a dimensional portal that sends you to a massive boss that has holds that prize. You'll be thrown in to a death match, alone, where the item is dangled in the air by a moogle.

Oh, and allow other players to watch the carnage.

GC gear is for the casuals who want good gear. It's good gear so it takes a while to get the nice stuff like the LT weapons and armor set. Don't have the time to get Relics or don't have a good LS for Primals? Work on these over a long time to get it.
And Relics are for those who have a lot of time to spend and who want really really good weapons. Although I dislike the RNG from the pit of my soul, the best weapons aren't meant for everyone. Don't like it? Skip it.
All content isn't meant for everyone. Do Garuda and get those weapons instead. No 100% dependence on RNG so it won't take so long and it's skill based and not luck based so there's no real complaining about it other than "Boohoo it's too hard!". There's even the cheaper GC weapons that are pretty good. I use the GC axe on my War for that +50 HP and I love to use it more than any of the primal weapons so there's no shame in it.

Seriously, it's not for everyone.

I am sitting on over 30K seals atm. I have bout the Relic item for 25K and spent over 40K seals on gear. I am looking for things to waste seals on, so I am hapy there is something so expensive to use my seals on.

Most content we have now is just a time sink while the Devs prepare 2.0, so we'll just have to stick with what we have for now.

The Lieutenant weapons cost 25k seals as well xD

Some of the lieutenant weapons are very good for something you can pick up from your GC, not to mention the unique design of these as well.
I was shocked to find out that the price was 25k to be honest though, I was expecting 10k atleast heh.
