It's been over a week already so some people probably have the wins/tomes they needed. I still need 30 wins for the mounts but my winrate spontaneously plummeted to Frontline levels, so that's a wrap for me.
I never could quite get into RW myself. The idea is cool but it's lacking something. It's not clear whether what you do in the middle with the train helps or what influence it has, there is a lot of different positions to hold that go completely past most people's heads (including mine, I'm really a casual in there), game readouts are very cryptic, and the most egregious thing that makes me refuse to engage further in that mode is the lack of cooldown timer for people dying in a mech to prevent them to camp the terminal at the spawn and squat the mech for the whole party during the full duration of the game.
Rival Wings is kind of boring... I barely consider frontlines pvp as it is. Rival Wings being dota style feels even less like a pvp match, so I'll pass on ever queueing for that. With that said, I do think it should have a roulette for people that like it so the queues stay consistent like frontlines.
Also has someone blatently speed hacking in it after name changing, so that's likely to kill it completely as SE won't do anything about it (They even removed the forum post someone put up about it)
Is it difficult to get into RW?
Will put you on ignore if you can't form a logical argument but argue nonetheless
No it's not difficult to get into RW. The goblin npc by the wolves' den aetheryte gives you the basics which are more than enough to start, and you can ask questions on the Revival discord, people are very helpful.
There are many ways to contribute efficiently in RW. If you don't want to gather the main resource for using the mechas (CE/ceruleum), or you don't want to use the mechas and are only interested in PvP, you can assist your own mechas by killing the enemy players who attack them, fight for the middle trains/mercenaries and much more. People really shouldn't care too much about doing the right thing, it'll just come as you play games.
Simply avoid using mechas when you start out if you have no clue how they work, and observe more experienced players use them. It's really not complicated, but they are valuable and are a limited resource, there can only be one mecha pilot per team and it's best to have some basic understanding of how RW works to not waste them. That being said, if no one in your 4-party pilots, feel free to experiment.
Also pops happen from reset time up until 1am and even later (Light Datacenter, sometimes Chaos), they are more frequent than frontlines at the moment. Outside of the treasure trove event, RW are organized during the week-end via the Revival discord.
